I saw her on the news show when it aired. My mouth was agape! I am glad that the staff at that Crossfit is attentive to her. Way to go!

Yeah, it's about downmodifications and the support thereof.
It cannot be totally about overchallenge. And being put up for challenges by young, gifted types ... who could know better ...

And that goes for ages 37, 47, 57, 67 and 77 ...

I don't think Uncle Rhabdo* makes frequent visits at that particular box ...
I would love for them to keep it that way ... despite looking at how some of those young ladies look like they could probably push a stalled car in Neutral ...

This is AWESOME!!!!!!

We have a member who just had her 65th b'day, and she's a regular in the 7:30am class. She can deadlift more than my lifting partner, who is more than 20 years younger.

Jacinto Bonilla dropped into my gym about a year and a half ago - he's a Crossfit legend. Just opened his own box somewhere in NYC. He's 76 and that guy is a beast. He kicked my ass - at the time I didn't know who he was and was SHOCKED (and humbled) when I heard he was in his 70's.

And BTW, "Uncle Rhabdo" isn't a frequent visitor to ANY reputable box. This place is doing what any good box would do, modifying workouts for their clientele. That is what Crossfit is all about - making you the best YOU can be.

I joined a box for a month until I got a lecture from a young coach about how horrible my overhead squat, barbell snatch and power clean were and that he was afraid I would injure myself. Well in fact my shoulder was getting impinged and I had a slight quadriceps pull from walking lunges with a 25 plate held overhead. But he wasn't in the slightest sympathetic and interested in working with me.
It was very discouraging and I didn't go back though I paid for the month. Crossfit corporate preaches crossfit is for everyone but you need to know the progressions and find a box that doesn't have such a hard core attitude.
