barre 3 30 minutes. Supposed to be my kettlebell day, but I didn't have the energy because I heard last night my mom has pneumonia.

For the past few days I have been very busy with unpacking and setting up the house, etc., but I've been walking every day. Today I did a workout: Heather Robertson's Thigh and Booty Bootcamp. I liked this one because it had three sections: band work, dumbbells, and a short cardio section.

Lynn, I am so sorry to hear about your mother! Praying for her!

Diana, it sounds like you had a wonderful vacation. Don't sweat the eating--it was a vacation, and life is short. You'll get back into the regular routine in no time. We put so much guilt on ourselves (at least I do), and I think it robs us of joy.

Cynthia, I hope things are cooling down for you there. Those temperatures sound terrible, considering you have no A/C especially!

When is Linda's surgery?

The house is starting to become more homey. There is still a lot of work to do, but it's getting there! We hung lights around our deck and it is lovely at night.

Cheryl

Hi Everyone!

I had a busy day. I worked with the kids today, went to vote, donated blood, and went to the grocery store. Tomorrow I will put away our vacation stuff. Everything is on the floor in the living room and bedroom.

Cheryl
I'm not sure if I mentioned it, but we opened the doors on the balconies at night so we could hear the waves and surf all night. It was wonderful. I loved just sitting on the balcony. Very relaxing. The problem is that it took a couple days just to wind down. By the time I was getting in a good place, it was time to pack up to leave. I was super excited when I could fit into my pants that I had picked out to wear today. LOL

Check-In: I had a lot going on so I was happy to fit in a 30 minute outdoor walk.

Have a Blessed evening!

I seem to have gotten out of the exercise habit, aside from walking. Got to get back into the habit. I walked by the ocean yesterday. Today I was in downtown Monterey to pick up some library books, so I parked a few blocks away and walked around town.

I'll walk tomorrow after I drop DD off, but I don't know if I'll get a workout otherwise. The tree in my front yard has a trimming appointment tomorrow. I'm not sure when they'll get here or how long it will take. I've lived here 17 years (yikes, how time flies) and I've never had the tree trimmed. Branches have gotten low to the ground and some touch the roof. It's a juniper tree, I've been told. It looks like a kid's lollipop-like drawing of a tree. Provides shade for my bedroom.

Yoga class 11. Repeating this one to get it down. It's not that the poses are new, but she makes them harder than when I did them before because she has you grip your legs and extend your arms and holds the poses longer and they become much more intense. For a beginners class it's funny she thinks everyone can do plough or do reverse namaste (with hands inverted behind your back), which I used to be able to do, but now can't due to the shoulder issue.

Thanks for the prayers for my mom. Hoping today will be a day without bad news. Yesterday she fell again, but only got a bruise. They seem to think the pneumonia isn't too bad and hopefully will be controlled with the antibiotics.

Diana, sounds like a great vacation, and getting back on track eating right after is the way to go.

Cheryl, glad you are getting so settled. I think unpacking and getting a new house set up is actually the hardest part, even though you always think the packing is the hardest part. But you seem to be well on your way. Your deck sounds like a great place to relax in the evening. I remember Nashville have the most lovely fragrances especially in the spring outside.

Cynthia, your tree sounds lovely but in need of a trim, probably like most of us at this point in the pandemic. I take it the air is better since you have been outdoors much, so that is good.

Hoping Linda is doing well with her operation and/or recovery.

I missed the post about Cheryl's deck and just went back to read. Sounds great! I love decks and balconies. Enjoy!

Today I did Cathe's CrossTrain Express upper body minus chest. Working chest is too painful on the shoulder. My sweetie was here from Saturday evening until yesterday. He likes to surprise me so I didn't know he was coming until I heard his key in the door. On Monday I was swabbed to see if MRSA is gone. If it is, surgery will be scheduled. I'll know late tomorrow or Friday.

Cynthia, I think I have some of your heat. I have the air conditioning on.

Lynn, praying for your mother's recovery.

Cheryl, sounds like your house is coming right along. I like the idea of lights on the deck.

Diana, glad you had a good vacation.
