What To Do Next?

I am nearing the end of my Tracie Long rotation. I have maintained strength, but increased definition in my mid section and arms, and increased my flexibility and balance. And I have had so much fun! A personal goal of mine though is to get stronger. I want to be able to work past my 20 pound dumbbells. My 25's are sitting there dusty, and I eventually want to get up to 30's. Additionally, I want to increase my cardio endurance.

So the question is, what should I do next? I was thinking that since I was thinking of decreasing my Cathe collection that I should at least incorporate her cardio. But I also have some sets here (Met-RX, Weider X-Factor ST that I never completed, TapOut, 10 Pound Slimdown) that I want to get through. What would you do if you've spent the last couple of months in Firm and Tracie Long nirvana, but want to increase your strength and endurance? Oh, but not too big of a jump that I'm liable to hurt myself

Thanks all for the suggestions!

I think you should focus on strength or endurance right now. It's easier to do one or the other. Tapout is great for endurance, especially if you are incorporating TXT 2 as well.

Cathe also has some incredible rotations that are either strength or endurance focused. You could give some of the collection you are thinking of ditching a last whirl that way. I'm really enjoying her older workouts. I'm currently doing the Sept 2010 rotation that is focused on lower body.

Can you share your Tracie Long rotation? I have some of her dvds that I never use and rotation would be helpful.

As for what to do next if you are trying to building strength maybe STS or XTrain. Strong Lifts 5x5 is supposed to be really good but that's more of a paper program.

I don't think I can even pick up a 20 lb dumbbell...

Next week I'll finish up my Katami 4x4/20 Minute Body/Anarchy Workout 6 week rotation. Then I'll start a 6 week KCM 30 MTF/KBKB Body Series/MH60 & Spartacus rotation. The focus is heavier lifting and metabolic conditioning.

Christine, you may be right. I might only be able to focus on strength OR endurance. Just have to figure out which is more of a priority right now. I do like that TapOut incorporates lots of pushups and core work.

Jenn here is my Tracie Long rotation. It's six weeks, and because I had to start over twice, I'm into week six. So, I'll be on it for eight weeks. As for STS or Xtrain, I was thinking about STS, but I think it requires more time that I have in the mornings. And Xtrain...love it! But I'm trying to work through virgins too .

Sabine, can you post that rotation? Seems like it would be intense.

Sounds very balanced! I'm still thinking on a direction to go. Maybe a hybrid is the way to go?

Remember that whatever you decide, it's not a wrong decision. You might tweak you decision once you start doing it, but you can't go wrong. It sounds like you want to try to go for both strength and endurance with a hybrid? If so, go for it.
