Barre3: Comparing Candace's workouts to Sadie's.

I'm new to the world of Barre3...I already own "Element: Barre Conditioning" with Sadie, so I decided to buy Candace's Barre3 DVDs as an introduction (I also really liked the clips I saw at Total Fitness DVDs!).

I would like to know if there are many--or any--differences between the type of Barre3 workouts Sadie does and the ones with Candace. Are they basically pretty much the same? They all seem to use the same equipment, but Candace's workouts have "ballet" in the title. I wondered if that was just a general description or whether hers have a little more dance influence than Sadie's.

It would be really helpful to hear from someone familiar with both instructors instead of just looking at online videos and trying to figure it out myself...Thank you!

I'm by no means a pro, but personally, Candace's workouts appeal to me more than Sadie. Candace brings more of a ballet element, and is a bit calmer. Sadie is wonderful but she gets so excited, and it begins to grate on my nerves while I'm suffering!

I like them both, but would agree that Candace's workouts are more ballet inspired.

The DVDs with Candace use more ballet type moves instead of just the normal barre3 1" moves. Some of her streaming is like that and some is typical barre3 moves.

Thanks for explaining, Pat58, yogapam, and cherimac. I was looking for barre with more of a ballet vibe, and I think Candace's programs are closer to what I wanted. It's just too bad she doesn't have more workouts on DVD...

Now I just need to decide whether to do "Ballet Fit" or "Ballet Boot Camp" first! Is one a little easier for barre beginners and people who don't do much strength training, or would either one be fine to start with?

I found Ballet Bootcamp a bit tougher. It's only 30 minutes so it has less stretching and less set up time. Candace gets as much work as possible in those 30 minutes.

I would agree with that assessment - Ballet Bootcamp packs a lot into 30 minutes.

I will have to get back to you once I've done more than preview the workout, since I've been in too much pain from my sinus issues to do any exercise lately.

I'm feeling much better now, but I'm not quite ready to deal with DOMS yet!
