Classic Firm and Barre/Pilates Rotation

Has anyone done a rotation alternating a day of a classic Firm with a day of a barre workout or Pilates workout? If so, what were your results?

TIA!

I've never tried this combo. My mind set is usually in one method or the other. It would be interesting to try for sure.

I've not done too many classic firms with Pilates because the classic Firms I have are pretty long workouts.
However, I have done BSS1, BSS3, and other strength training with pilates.
There are lots of short pilates routines from 10 minute solution, and books etc.

I use a body part themed pilates workout along with a traditional strength training video as a "cool down"

I also use a total body short pilates routine as a warmup or cool down instead of the video.

On active recovery days, longer pilates routines.

I hope that makes sense. I think they pair very well and my body feels great peppering in pilates

I hope you hear from someone with a formal rotation though.

I didn’t think about an add on at the end. That’s a great idea. I was thinking more as classic Firm Monday, Pilates or barre Tuesday, classic Firm Wednesday, etc. But great idea!!

Why not do both? Variety is key!

Alternate them on strength days, and experience the best of both! For example:

Sunday: Classic Firm
Monday: Cardio + Pilates
Tuesday: Barre workout
Wednesday: Cardio + Pilates
Thursday: Classic Firm
Friday: Cardio
Saturday: Fusion workout

Then, the next week, sub barre for Firm, and vice versa. Or, mix them up in any combination.

That's a simple but tough schedule, imho. Props to you!! I love it!!

Do you mind me asking how you built up to it and how long it took?

Cowgirl I love it!!!! This is similar to what I would like to work upnto. Instead of the interval cardio, I may have to sub walks on those days for now.

Garry I may start off with your idea. Some days the cardio being walking (I have fibro and other auto immune diseases that flare up at times and put me down so I need to be cautious).

Not at all, I didn't get to the 6 days a week until about 6 months into it. My cardio days are open ended...I can jog, hike, do a video, take a class.

I started with four days and listened to my body. I also vary the intensity of my cardio and barre workouts. For instance, P57 is more intense for me than say the lotte berk DVDs. Walking vs. Running, etc.

M- Classic Firm
T- Rest
W- Cardio
TH- Barre
F- Rest
Sat-Classic Firm
Sun-Rest
