Has anyone done non rotation rotation?

I have made a 2 week rotation that I plan on repeating using a new dvd to fill in my category. The categories are cardio, strength, core and recovery. Cardio includes step, kickbox, hiit, dance and spin. Strength includes traditional full body and splits along with yoga, Barre and ballet. Core includes traditional ab work and Pilates. Recovery includes relaxing yoga, stretch and Essentrics. I have been so bored lately reaching for the same workouts when I have so many.

Day 1 core
Day 2 cardio
Day 3 strength total body
Day 4 recovery
Day 5 cardio
Day 6 strength upper body or UB split
Day 7 recovery or 2nd UB split if did 1st part on day 6
Day 8 strength lower body
Day 9 recovery
Day 10 core
Day 11 strength TB
Day 12 cardio
Day 13 recovery
Day 14 strength TB

I can't wait to fill in the blanks with old "new to me" workouts!

I like it! I've often done non-rotation rotations . I believe Look Great In 8 is another good one.

I've done this with 21DF, following their pattern but avoiding Autumn in a 7-day rotation:
cardio with weights
upper body
lower body or barre
Pilates or abs
total body weights
cardio
yoga

Great schedule!

With the exception of Jessica Smith rotations with a new release, I do that all the time with her workouts. Mine is a little looser, and a bit different in that I do a walk with an ab focus on cardio days once a week. I can't do Pilates for abs or floor work, it tweaks my back. I do strength (traditional, barre, fusion) on MWF, then cardio on TTHS, and a rest day or stretching on Sunday.

X-TrainFit (not to be confused with a similar-sounding title from Cathe) used to have generic 30-day, 60-day, and 90-day rotations on their website, with emphasis on either cardio or strength. I don't think the rotations are available anymore, and when I went to their website recently I got a warning from my virus protection program. Fortunately, I saved the PDFs when they were available. Here's a sample, which I adapted:

Yeah, that's basically what I do--i.e., designate each day as a specific type of workout and then choose from what I have for that day. Here's what I started with:

Monday = long cardio
Tuesday = strength
Wednesday = long yoga
Thursday = aerobic weight training or similar
Friday = Classical Stretch or other stretch
Saturday = barre
Sunday = yoga class

I do a lot of add-ons, so I might add short yoga to my main workout or short cardio on another day. I don't follow this as closely as I used to, but I still almost always do my main cardio on Mondays and longer yoga on Wednesdays.

That's what I've been doing for decades being apparently the most rotation averse VFer. I once did a 4 week (I think) Jessica Smith rotation 99% by the book and swore NEVER AGAIN.

I do what I feel like in the general vicinity of

Cardio
Strength
Classical stretch or yoga
Strength (sometimes I split, sometimes I don't)
Cardio
Outdoor activity (hiking, snorkeling, kayaking, cycling)
Rest

Sometimes I do two cardio days in a row, especially when I find something I like like Soul Sweat or Walking Online Workouts.

I recognize that rotations are key for many people but for me they just make me want to throw things.

Right now I'm using Jessica Smith's master rotation, and since it includes DVDs I don't have, I use those days as an opportunity to mix in other instructors. You could use anyone's rotation calendar that way (taking each day's workout as a *theme* rather than a specific workout), and Jessica's are good for this because she has a wide variety of workouts.

I do this, too, and occasionally switch it up, because I get bored so fast. My current schedule:

- Monday: cardio
- Tuesday: yoga or Pilates
- Wednesday: cardio
- Thursday and Friday: some form of aerobic weight training
- Saturday: yoga or Pilates
- Sunday: catch-up or rest day

I'm thinking about modifying this a little even now, as I have found that doing weights twice in a row is pretty tough, but when I designed this rotation earlier in the summer, it was based on time/schedule needs. I usually do my cardio in the form of outdoor running, and Thursday and Friday are the days of the week my time doesn't permit me to get out to my favorite outdoor path to do that.
