non-slip yoga mats

I used a Jade mat at Exhale a few weeks ago and every time I slip on my mat think of it. Any recommendations for non-slip mats? Any that are less pricey? Do all Jade mats have the surface and just different thicknesses? Someone in a past thread recommended Barefoot Yoga mats. Does anyone use the jute mat? How is the surface of the eco mat? Thanks.

I'm sorry, but I saw the subject and came into the thread to recommend Jade. I've tried a lot of mats (expensive and cheap and in-between) and Jade is the best for non-slip surface. I only have a Jade Harmony and am not sure if the others have the same surface. Right at the moment, there are a couple of them listed slightly cheaper at Amazon's warehouse deals site: http://www.amazon.com/Jade-Professio...=jade+yoga+mat

I have the Jade Fusion and it is the best as far as non-slip of any mat I've tried. It's my favorite mat, period. I also have a Manduka Pro and don't use it nearly as much (although it gets top marks for durability).

I don't know if TJ Maxx or one of those stores might ever have any Jade mats.

I've had mine for years. Won't hesitate to buy another one when the time comes.

I have an Aurorae brand mat that I bought from Amazon. I am very happy with it. It is wearing very well, and I have no problems with slipping. I ordered it through Amazon, but the company itself contacted me after I bought it and asked if I had any questions or needed further help. They said to contact them if I had any problems.

This is the one I bought:

I bought it in bright blue.

They offer another mat here:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=sr_1_3&sr=8-3

If I ever upgrade, I may try that one, but the current one I have shows no sign of wear yet, and I've had it for a year. I use it very often.

I'm sure I'd love a higher end mat, but this one fit my budget.

To make a mat surface sticky or stickier wash it in the washer on gentle cycle with Woolite detergent. Hang to dry.

This is the best mat I've ever used! I have a Manduka Pro and I much prefer this because I don't slip on it at all.

It's very thin and light, so maybe not the best if you need cushioning, but I love it! I'm ready to get a second one and get rid of my bigger mat.

I desired, and was eventually gifted, a Liforme Yoga Mat, and I love it! I never slip on it, it's been incredibly durable, and I love the alignment lines. http://us.liforme.com/shop/liforme-yoga-mat.html

I thought I had a good non-slip mat until I recently purchased a Liforme mat from the Yoga International site. They had a prop sale about 3 weeks ago and offer free shipping on orders over $108.

J Brown Podcast

Just wanted to bring to your attention this podcast episode from J Brown

http://www.jbrownyoga.com/yoga-talks-podcast/

Earlier this month he interviewed the owner of Yoga Life Style - Ray Greenberg (1/12/2016 episode) http://www.yogalifestyle.com/yogagear.htm J was raving about their BHEKA product line.

It was an interesting episode since J Brown owns a studio in Queens NY. I also enjoyed his most recent episode where he talks with a former owner of a studio that recently closed. Listening to them talk 'shop' and her future plans moving from Queens to Santa Monica.

Good Luck on finding a mat to your liking!

Thanks for the replies. I'm looking into everyone's suggestions and not rushing into a decision it could be costly. Off to call some of the companies to try and get more info.
