Twice over the last couple of years I have downloaded Freemake and begun to install it when I noticed that in the terms agreement it was indicated that additional software was included that I did not want - and I am not speaking of options such as having a tool bar or search engine added. Has anyone noticed that?

Yes, you need to be very careful. Choose 'custom' everytime and then it gives you the option to uncheck the additional junk.

What I'm referring to are not options but in the 'terms and conditions' agreement which you have to agree to before you can choose 'custom install'.

Oops sorry didn't read your post thoroughly. I really should read those terms and conditions agreements when I install software but I admit I never do. I heard there's a free EULA (End User License Agreement) analyzer program (can't remember the exact name) that will look through and alert you if there's something it finds that could be important.

I have also read that Freemake includes some spyware. I'm not sure if unchecking all the option boxes will avoid all of them.

Only once did I download something from Freemake called Hard Candy which enables sharing of free files.
Malwarebytes picked it up and removed it even though it was not truly malicious.

https://www.malwarebytes.org/

you can always do a quick scan after downloading from Freemake if worried.

you could try this for downloading
copy and paste the video's url into the dialog box on top of the webpage
http://en.savefrom.net/

click on download to the right in a yellow box
click on your preferred format

the file will be downloaded to your browser's download folder

Do NOT click or download anything else

This savefrom website is much faster than it used to be and actually easier to use than Freemake products for downloading.
