I'm a little taller than 5' 5" and I bought a 65cm the first time, going by the suggestion on the box. It was too big for me. My torso is on the longer side so I couldn't get my legs in a 90 degree angle when I sat on it unless I underinflated that thing and I like having the stability balls inflated all the way. I finally got a 55cm one and am very happy with it.

I'm 5'3 and have a both a 55 and 65. The 55 is fine for most of the work I do- stability ball pikes, stability ball pushups, etc.

It looks like since there's no consensus, those of us on the edge between 5'0" and 5'6" can't really go by the suggested heights. Methinks those with both are definitely covered, or else I'm just an equipment fiend.

no equipment fiend. I think I want to try some with the smaller ball also. I'm 5'2 and my 65 seems way to big for me. When i do the ones where you lay on the floor, and have the ball between your legs, it's too big for my shorter legs to deal with.

I can see where a longer torso would need a larger ball though. Being as I've rubbed enough bodies to see so many differences, a short person with a longer torso would need the larger size just so her arms don't hit the floor.

I'm just a smidge under 5'3" and have both a 55 cm and a 65 cm. I use my 55cm the most, but I'm glad to have both because neither one on its own is perfect.

I know this is an old thread, but I have been searching around for a while, and this one is closest to what I am about to add in asking.

I am 5'1" and have a 55cm ball. This one to be exact:

http://www.google.com/products/catal...ed=0CGoQ8wIwAg

I was trying to do a Susan Harris (TLT) workout on this yesterday, and, well, I couldn't really lay on it right. It seems to small, even the one leg workout, my knees were not where theirs were in relation to the ball. My back couldn't lay on it for the crunches, bridge work, etc... Granted it could just be me doing everything all wrong.

I think I may need a 65cm ball, I don't think 75cm would be good, but I just don't know.

Are all balls made equal? If I get a different brand in a 65cm will it be too huge? I'm so confused.

Anyone know anything about this ball and if it would be better due to sand?

Any help or comments are greatly appreciated.

So, I guess it just depends.

I could have written this post!

I originally bought a 55, as advised for my height, but it was no use for me at all. The 65 works great for this 5'2"er.

Melzie, it's true, that 55 is too small for a lot of back exercises. I bought it also but after I had purchased the 65 . So, I think the darn chart is wrong also. Also, it seems everyone in the videos is always a larger ball then a 55. Well, then maybe they are all tall ladies . I use the 55 for when I have to put it over my head so it won't touch the ceiling. Otherwise, it's deflated.
