Questions about the sticky balls

I finally got my FitBall Mini from Amazon and it smells. Actually, it stinks. Now I have a stinky blue ball.

My small pink playground ball kinda smells, too. Is there a way to make the smell go away or will I just have to wait it out?

mine came with two plugs - but one sticks out too much and the other sticks out just a tad. Is that normal? Should I force it all the way in? I don't want it to pop on me.

I have another question, since I'm going to use this for ab exercises for barre work, how much should I inflate it?

There's nothing worse than stinky, sticky pink and blue balls.

I would wash them with a sponge and some dish washing soap. For the barre work, the ball should not be fully inflated; you need some give to be able to squeeze it. I would push the plugs all the way in.

Here's hoping that when you squeeze your balls, they will no longer stink.

I don't have anything useful to contribute. I just wanted to be part of a thread about stinky balls. It has such potential.

I don't know of any other way of cleaning dirty balls. Maybe you can air them out.

I remember once before someone posted about the "Firm" having stinky balls, and I believe the consensus was to wash them with soap and water, or to put them outside to air out.
Careful where you put them though so the neighbors don't complain.

Seems to me someone just got rid of their Firm stinky balls because they were so stinky, but I think that's extreme and it seems to me that they felt bad afterwards.

I tried my best to keep my stinky ball jokes to a minimum. How'd I do?

Reading this thread got my mind going in a certain direction (which is not difficult!), so when I read the thread about problems at the post office, and someone mentioned the 'thickness and rigidity of the package'...well, I wasn't thinking about mail...though a homophone, yes).

I got rid of my Firm pink ball because it reeked so badly. Even after two weeks, it was horrid, and I didn't want to breath in whatever it was outgassing.

You could try putting your ball in the garage or on a screen-in porch or somewhere else to try to speed up the outgassing process. The odor is not from it being dirty or having something that could be washed of on it, but from the materials it is made of, so washing might temporarily neutralize the odor, but the outgassing would still be taking place.
