Thumbs up August 2020 ~ Walk On & On ~ New Check-In Buddies Are Always Welcome!

What started as a Leslie walk challenge has morphed into a wide variety of workouts and lots of support and encouragement! Join us, if you're looking for a friendly check-in, that's not limited to one type of exercise!

I can't believe August is already here.

Last night: Basic stretches
This morning: Oxycise

Diana, thanks for starting our month! I love saying the French word for August & was tormenting DD by saying it this morning. It's aout, with a circumflex over the u; pronounced (as best I can) as ah-oo.

I did part of my workout already, but will be back later. Got to tune into my book club zoom meeting.

Later: barre arms, Bar Method Designer Sculpting; couldn't bring myself to do a half hour of HIIT even modified, so I took a walk. I usually don't on the weekend, but I went to the Sand City part of the rec trail, and some people were wearing masks.

Yesterday I did Fitness Blender's Total Body Strength Training with Dumbbells. I was happy to see that I haven't lost any strength. I guess all the house prep was helpful for that after all.

Today I'm resting and doing some more finessing on the house. Tomorrow is our last prep day before it goes on the market. People will have to wear masks and gloves if they decide to come to our home in person. Hopefully only really serious buyers who have viewed the virtual tour will come. It will be interesting to see what happens!

Getting over a few days of migraine, I guess because of some new fronts coming in. But today did barre 3 30 minutes, my regular yin yoga class now on Zoom for the first time, and a walk with DH, since the new fronts brought in lovely cool weather, along with the migraines! I sadly have to deal with the good and the bad.

Cheryl, congrats on finishing the prep of the house. Fingers crossed that you will sell in no time. I hear NC is a strong market.

Cynthia, the thing about French is it is all vowels. No consonants. Especially in August.

Diana, August is not here. I refuse to believe it. But thanks for starting us off in spite of this fact.

Today was blue sky right from the start. Most unusual. Usually, it's gray & then partly clears.
DD gets to walk part way to work, except on Sundays when she has to be there an hour earlier than the other days. After I dropped her off, I had a nice walk for 30 min.
Further check-in: L4 chest & tris, Cardio Barre cardio chapter.

Yesterday was a rest/stretch day. I had thought how bad could Elise (BOD barre blend) make that? So I started it, with the sound off. About 2 minutes of watching her wiggle and simper but not stretch, the full screen showed one of her affirmation cards, I AM RELAXED. And I turned it off and found the Winsor Pilates stretch chapter which really does relax me.

Hey you Carolina girls, I hope you don't get that hurricane.

Lynn, what's wrong with August that you're in denial?
