Kind of, but kind of not, off-topic...

This is crazy, but somehow I think VFers will understand.

As you all know, my Natty cat (my avatar) died in June.

Yesterday as part of my workout, I did Jessica Smith's 10-Minute Solution Knockout Body, Upper Body section. The music that accompanies this segment is light-hearted, whimsical, jaunty and ...well, natty.

Suddenly it seemed like that music was the very essence of the kind of cat Natty was. It was his theme. And here I am, in the middle of doing hook punches, crying.

I didn't even realize at the time that day before yesterday marks almost exactly six months to the day Natty died.

Does anyone know how I can identify that tune?

I'm so sorry for the loss of Natty

An app like Shazam should identify the tune.

I'm sorry for your loss, Natty sounds like a great cat!

(And how neat that you've found some music to match. )

Do let us know if you succeed in identifying the music.

Thanks you guys! I downloaded Shazam but I think maybe the fact that Jessica is instructing over the music confuses the app.

Maybe you could try to contact Jessica herself and ask her if she knows the name of the song. She's usually very responsive.

I'm so sorry about your sweet Natty.

I lost my Sugar in April, and I miss her every day.

Sorry for your loss. If you have an iPhone, you could ask Siri to ID the song - although it's probably part of a mix from PowerMusic or something. Not sure if Siri or Shazam are programmed to recognize that. You could just ask Jessica. Good luck.

acey,

sorry about your baby! I know what you mean, though.

I did that segment today, because you asked about it.

there's 2 songs in that 10 min segment - are you referring to the first song?

I've heard it played in 1 and possibly 2 of The Firm workouts - I want to say Carissa Foster's Maximum Cardio. in the cool down, I believe.

and possibly one that Allie was leading.

I played the credits at the end of Knockout Body, and the music is by Daveed (used a lot in many of the exercise videos in the industry).

I don't know the title of the song, but maybe Daveed has music samples online somewhere.

Thanks all! Bzar thank you so much for doing that research. I'll look Daveed up...yes it was the first song, with the melodic trills above the beat.
