Another one who loves my DVDs! I only get rid of ones I know I’m no longer interested in, like 10 minute solutions. I have an addiction to Cathe live and 5 Parks Yoga but try to keep my DVDs in rotation. It’s so fun to go back to those classics like Christi Taylor. I’ve also experienced my fair share of issues with streaming, so I like to go back to DVDs when needed. I have a large collection and some that are waiting in the wings for me to try like a lot of Linda Wooldridge DVDs.

that's why i like going to used book sales/thrift stores, to look at what people have donated and determine if i should add it to my collection. i like going back to revisit my old workouts, read all of the reviews on both the forum and reviews section. i'm both a collector and enthusiast.

2nd: I sometimes think about streaming when I see raves about certain sites (Cathe Live, Barre3, BBOD) but I have too many dvds. I also want to own a physical copy if I'm going to spend money. I've been buying a lot lately, mostly older ones and spending *usually* no more than $4 each, but I'll spend a little more if I can't find it for a lower price and I need it now. |

I have a lot and am still hoarding DVDs. I also stream regularly and usually have at least one subscription going. I hardly ever reach for my DVDs. I prefer streaming for some reason, even when I have the same workout on DVD (like Cathe). I buy DVDs because I do think one day they'll be impossible to get, and I won't always want to stream, so I feel like I'm basically taking advantage of both situations at the same time. Whenever I get tired of streaming, as I do sometimes, I'll have some new DVDs to dig into, and I'll stay interested and stave off boredom. That's basically how I rationalize it.
I do mostly buy used DVDs from VF Roost or from Mary's sales, though, so I'm purchasing at a bit of a bargain. The only new DVDs I buy really are Cathe and Tracie Long. I would also buy new Michelle Dozois DVDs if she put any out, except the BodyFit stuff, those just don't speak to me really. |

I stream regularly and still have hundreds of vhs and dvds collecting dust.
Just too lazy to purge. I was resistant switching to dvd from vhs. I was resistant switching from dvd to streaming files or sites. I do not see myself going back to either. When given the option of buying a new download or a dvd, I choose the file. Several of my favorite instructors now include their older dvd and downloads on their streaming sites (Leslie, Misty Tripoli, Sue Grant, Kukuwa). It is just so easy to workout either from my den laptop or den HDTV connected to the laptop. It is now a bother to use my dvds, even in the laptop drive when a file or streaming site is just a click away. Barb S

I just had a nice surprise.
I had bought the Sue Grant streaming library awhile ago, even though I owned most of her dvds, mostly to try her two newest DVD routines: PIZZAZZ and Easy Does It. Those two new routines were not yet offered as downloads. Sue gifted me the PIZZAZZ dvd because I expected all of the streams to be downloadable files and I already bought most of the other downloads as dvds. I just checked her online library again to see if they were officially offered as downloads yet and saw, not only were they now included in the downloads, there were two new dvds added to the download library: FitQuick and Tradition with a Twist so that library purchase was quite a deal! ETA: I paid $36 in 2017 for the library which now costs $60! Barb S

I have a couple of virgin workouts waiting for me, but those are used workouts I picked up at a thrift store. I have lots of DVD's and will keep what I have, but I don't buy DVD's like I used to. I find myself going to YouTube more and more to find something new to me. I can't remember the last time I bought something brand new that an instructor put out. I love Tracie Long, but didn't give in to buying any of her newer stuff because I have so many of her older offerings I don't think they will provide anything new to me.
And I appreciate when people unload their DVD's to thrift stores because I'm able to pick up something here and there for a great price! But I do find myself being way more selective before I even buy a used DVD.
