That's one reason I buy workout DVDs at Goodwill, mainly for trading purposes. But usually I end up buying something and end up liking it myself. I'm going to my visit my local one tomorrow morning.

Alison, great find on Cize! I saw it last year at a yard sale, but they wanted $50 for it. (yes, you read that right)

CoolGirlinFl888, think of the "spirit fingers" (or jazz hands) in the movie "Bring It On", but done at the chest.

At my local Goodwill, I got the six FitPrime DVDs that were re-done in 2005 for $1.99 each. This made me happy for two reasons:

1. I have really wanted to try the FitPrime series. It sounds perfect for how I train these days.

2. The existence of the six-disc FitPrime series at Goodwill means that there is a fellow vidiot lurking in my hometown. This was not a Target or Wal-Mart purchase -- oh no! There is another committed home exerciser out there. Whoever you are, greetings -- and thank you!

At Goodwill yesterday, I found the "Fitness For Dummies, 2nd Edition" book. I bought it because there was a chapter on Exercise Videos, and it mentioned VF (and founder Wendy) several times. It was fun to read about VF (and videos) in it, including the "Mistress Satanica" reference.

Aunt Famous, great score on the FitPrimes!

Garrie - nice avatar.

have you read the firm's book "Firm for Life?" you'd get a kick out of it - some libraries still have it in their collection. i found it at Goodwill some time ago. its comedic value outweighs its exercise value.

Bzar: Thank you. I have that book! The Firm Spirits chapter had me laughing. My favorite part was reading the master instructor bios.

ha ha!

via the Goodwill, Savers, and independent used book stores, I acquired all of Joyce Vedral's books, which includes all of the weight lifting books that she did on her own and co-authored with other people, her 3 nutrition books for body builders, and the 2 fitness books for teens and young adults.

if you spot these, they're worth getting.

Today at an out-of-town Goodwill I bought:
-Gaiam Quick Start Pilates For Weight Loss (Ana Caban)
-Mama Wants Her Body Back + Mama Wants Her Abs Back (new, shrinkwrapped)
-Mama Wants Her Body Back Advanced Workout (new, shrinkwrapped)

Or, since I'm a guy, I call them "Uncle Garrie Wants His Body Back." I'm not a father (but I am an uncle). But the circuit format of them appealed to me, and I think the use of a resistance tubing would be nice for a change of pace from dumbbells.

All DVDs were $2.50.

I can't believe this, but I've never heard of these workouts. Please tell me more about them, Garrie.
