how long do you continue sweating after a workout?

My father and i were complaining about how useless it was to shower right after a work out as we both continue to sweat for a good half hour after.

anyone else?

oh... and then there is te issue of glasses steaming over. SIGH

I don't seem to have that problem so much for whatever reason, but my partner has to wait at least a half an hour after a long bike ride to shower or he'll still be sweating after the shower.

My DH is like that. I don't "get it" because I barely sweat and then I stop almost immediately. DH, on the other hand, can't shower immediately after physical activities b/c he continues to sweat and sweat.

I cool down and stretch for about half an hour before hitting the showers - doing it sooner is just counterproductive because I'll sweat through my workclothes.

I just ran 3 miles in 95 degree heat with high humidity. I finished 20 minutes ago and am still sweating. I look like I just jumped in the swimming pool... literally!

It doesn't do me any good to get in the shower until I cool down either. I'll still be sweating and it makes it impossible to towel off afterwards, dry my hair or apply make up. Thirty minutes is the minimum amount of time I need to cool down after an intense sweaty workout.

I'm in the 30-minute range. I stop perspiring after about 15 minutes but it takes another 15 for me to stop feeling flushed and hot. Usually I spend my cooldown time having a snack/meal and logging my workout and stats.

After todays hair loss thread, I have decided that I will shower as soon as possible after my workouts, lol.....Ive had 2 showers today...I sweat for a long time after also, but I am giving myself a 15 minute lapse after my workout, and then my head will be cleaned ...

I'm a sweater...it takes me awhile, but I have to go to work, so I try to take a colder shower if I'm really sweaty. For me, it depends on humidity and temp, too. When I lived in New Orleans, in the summer, I'd run at 5:45 a.m. and would sweat for several HOURS afterwards...so so so humid.

If I cool down for about 10 minutes after my workout, my shower usually "takes".

However, my face stays red for a good hour

Another 20 to 30 minute "sweater" here. I found out the hard way if I don't wait to take a shower I'm sweaty after the shower. Ick!
