Mrs. Oleson died? That's too bad, she is reunited with Nels now. Her character was funny.

President George H.W. Bush was a remarkable human being who embraced public service. War hero, diplomat, DCI, and congressman.

We watched on TV the memorial service for him in DC yesterday, and it was very moving. It was also wonderful to see the Presidents seated together in the front row at the Cathedral, too! A lovely ceremony with the servicemen who honored him, his friends and family who knew and loved him.

I plan on watching Bush's memorial service. The moments I remember the most are the conversations with both of them or Mrs Bush or the President talking about each other. A good marriage of 73 years. In retrospect, I wish they had written a book about marriage.

I think John Meecham’s biography might cover the marriage. Susan Page has a biography about Barbara Bush coming out, as well.

You just reminded me to go to the library and get Family of Secrets: The Bush Dynasty by Russ Baker. I heard the author talking about it on the radio. Sounds fascinating.

You are the first person in over a decade to talk about Evening Shade. That was one of the last sitcoms I watched. It was hilarious. I never see any reruns on them. Such characters and hilarity.

Evening Shade is one of my favourite TV shows.

Where else could you see such a high caliber of actors? Ossie Davis, Hal Halsbrook, Marilyn Jenner and others were splendid. The script writing and storylines were great. If anyone want to see fine actors at the top of their game and practicing their craft, this TV show is it.
