Sandra - I hope your library opening goes smoothly!

It’s been a long time since I’ve been inside a library. Ours has a good selection of ebooks & audio books through the Libby app. I got into virtual books when we were on the road a lot. I’ve taken to having an audio book on when I’m working around the house or cooking. It helps break up the monotony of being at home so much.

Waves to all!

TGIF!!! I am so glad it's Friday. We had to condense five days into three because of the snow days. I was good and made myself work out last night:

~ LWR BYB Day 5, 7 Minutes Get Fit Cardio
~ Getting Better, chest, tris and bis only
~ 50 butt bridges and a series of 45 clamshells / leglifts with the hip circle
~ Almost 7,000 steps

Sandra, permitting limited computer use is a real benefit, especially during income tax preparation season.

Pam, you really are a child of the digital era and use it to full advantage!

Beth - the yin yoga ice looks .... kinda masochistic, kinda fun. I will watch from my warm yoga room, thank you!

Question for the Zoom folks

I'm going to be administering my book club for a few months, and we've been meeting via Zoom. I need your help!

First of all, the administrator was calendaring the meetings and sending the invites via Google Meet, but when we logged in it appeared to be a Zoom meeting.

My other problem is that I only have a free Zoom account for joining other people's sessions. My understanding is that if I host a meeting, we only have 40 minutes to talk.

I would appreciate any advice on how to navigate this. Thanks!

Garrie, it's been a long time since I've done Muscle Max. I hope I can build myself up again to be able to do that workout.
Thank you for your kind words. Yes, Mary Helen Bowers is a machine!

Beth, thanks for the yoga humor--so funny!

Pat, I'm sure someone will be able to help you with your questions about Zoom. I am a computer moron!

Sandra, thought of you: the Yoga for Healthy Aging blog posted a short video for healthy knees (with Ellen Saltonstall, who also does ballwork; I've taken her workshops):
https://yogaforhealthyaging.blogspot...thy-knees.html

Pat, you know I am a cold wimp, but Matt's video was pretty (watching from inside!) and it is a nice sequence. ETA: I use Zoom for work, but it's the professional version, so there's no 40 minute limit, and scheduling is within the system.

I also came across this yin yoga for tight hips video if anyone is interested:

Happy Friday!

Pat - Yes, I’ve definitely gone digital, although I miss my live classes a lot! If the host doesn’t have a paid Zoom Pro account, they are limited to 40 min. Maybe someone in your book club does and they can host? It’s pretty simple to send out invites. Another option is the band app. It’s free and works quite well, one of my fellow Essentrics instructors uses it and I’ve done her classes & chatted on it. It’s not quite as user friendly as zoom and often people are averse to downloading yet another app. I haven’t used Google Meet.

I did a Body Project workout on Wednesday, but I forgot to post. I took rest days the last two days.

I did not feel like traditional cardio this morning, so I did a thirty minute Misty Tripoli workout and a short SaraBeth yoga practice. I may do some restorative or yin yoga later.

Ballet Beautiful Scultpt and Burn Cardio Blast DVD (Total Body Toning Workout)
Yin Yoga with Kim Eng (Complete Yin Yoga 2 practice)

Oh my gosh, the Ballet Beautiful workout that I did today was excellent! I used to only do the Bridge/Extended Bridge Series and Thigh workout segments from that DVD but after I did those, I liked them so much that I did the rest of the workout and really enjoyed it. The Yin Yoga afterwords felt really nice.

I'm waving to everyone!

Hi everyone, happy weekend. I had one of those "everything went wrong" days yesterday and haven't been feeling well - like I'm coming down with something, biting nails!

I tried Kassandra's newest yin and it is wonderful. Chill Out Yin Yoga for Your Nervous System. I'm usually a 20 / 30 minute yogini but this one I was wishing was an hour. And bolster is positively delicious looking. Also found a new meditation channel, Ask Angels with Melanie Beckler.

Paine - it's good to see you being excited about a workout!

Sherry, your workout sounds fun and easygoing.

Beth and Pam - thank you for the feedback. Ugh, how I wish I'd never agreed to administer this group. Roll Eyes!
