Question Do you bring fitness equipment or videos on vacation?

We have a travel trailer and usually do a lot of hiking on trips. I really like trekking poles. Using the poles, I get a great upper body workout while taking some weight and impact of my legs and hips.

On less active trips, I'll bring a 5lb ankle weight and do Margaret Richard's Getting Better.

I have dozens of workouts loaded on to my iPad. Streaming isn't that great in campgrounds.

A long time ago, I took a resistance ball on a trailer trip. When we got to high elevations, the ball expanded about 1.5 times it's normal size. I was worried it was going to 'splode! I didn't bring any balls after that.

Do you bring any fitness equipment or videos on vacations?

LOL about the ball! That's crazy!

When my girls were little, I remember doing Ellen and Strong Stride in the hotel rooms over Thanksgiving and Christmas. Now, I'm more like "meh, it'll be fine" and take those days off.

Not usually on vacations. I'll usually walk a lot or use the hotel gym. Sometimes I'll bring my bands or tubing if I know I will have the room to work out.

When I was out of town for work for months at a time, I bought it all! Several sets of weights, step with risers, yoga mat, dvd player, and various dvds. When I was at the end of that (they would send us off for months at a time, several times a year over the course of three years), I was just down to weights, dvds, yoga mat, and online workouts. I did a lot of HIIT and kickboxing for cardio, and used paper workouts to work out in the hotel gym. I used my weights to work out in the room sometimes.

I pack a stretchy band for upper body work since a lot of my travel involves hiking or biking. It feels good to balance things out, or even just to use for stretching. I also pack a couple of tennis balls for rolling massage. If my suitcase gets too stuffed for the return trip, I can always throw them out, but that hasn't happened yet.

I used to pack a small dvd player and a workout or two, but only if I'm traveling by car and have lots of room. Now I just rely on iPad streaming for some Essentrics or qi gong.

No, I don't. I take those days off and enjoy my vacation.

I forgot that I have a stretchy band in the trailer. I used it on the last trip. Less weight in the rig.

I don't do formal workouts on vacation - my trips are often pretty active. The stuff I do in the evenings is more restorative and recovery oriented.

I try and do a lot of walking on vacations. Last year we stayed at the campground at Disney World which is very nice, although very expensive. I did enjoy walking around it though. It was huge. I also take a resistance band for some strength work. I will sometime use a DVD on my laptop, but mostly walking.

I walk an average of 10-12 miles a day while I’m at Disney World. That’s good enough for me.

We go on a lot of cruises (or stay in hotels with gyms) so I always pack workout clothes, heart rate monitor, MP3 player, wireless earphones, and download some Beachbody On Demand workouts to my iPad.

ETA: I would love it if Cathe Live was downloadable in the Cathe Live app! BOD is awesome for that because I can watch the "Fix" cooking demos, do a workout, or preview stuff I haven't done before... Yeah, I have no life, lol!
