I wonder if the move toward boutique fitness rather than gyms makes streaming a better choice for fitness providers?

Not saying it's right, but just wondering about market influences..

Les Mills is also extending virtual classes to gyms and fitness clubs that already have their classes.

So the workouts are only half? This will drive me crazy. Does anyone know why? I don't know if I should subscribe.

So are the 30 minute BodyPump classes still total body? Just shorter? Or are they divided up into lower and upper body emphases? Does anyone know?

My guess is to not totally p*** off the Les Mills instructors who pay a hefty fee to obtain the workouts. If they streamed the full hour workouts, the instructors would lose it, as someone already said upthread.

There are a ton of people who love gyms and group workouts, who will continue to use the gyms. And there are people who will stream and still go to group classes. It's win win for everyone!

I do hope they eventually make these workouts one hour.

See my original post. In the BodyPump the only tracks that are taken out are the triceps/biceps.

I have the original workouts and compared the on demand to what I have.

The original format is:
warmup
legs
chest
back
triceps
biceps
lunges
shoulders
abs
stretch

I previewed a few and it looks like they include legs (squats), chest, back, shoulders and core. The back work includes deadlifts. So it seems like a pretty decent 30 minute total body workout just skipping the real isolation moves.

I thought it would drive me crazy, but since their workouts are segmented so well by tracks, I think it works out ok. I don't know the real workouts, so I don't think I'll feel like I'm missing anything. I tried a Combat workout and it was really fun. I felt like the intensity was a bit above the BB Combat set, since they didn't break down the moves so much.

Then I did a BodyFlow workout focusing on flexibility. I just did 3 songs (20 minutes) and it was great.

I'm excited about this. I've been wanting more LM workouts for a while with good music. My Cathe Live subscription did just renew, so I'll have both this month, but normally I will pick one or the other. They are both good options for streaming since they have such a good variety of workouts.
