December 2019 Add 'em up Goals Challenge ~Join us!

Come join us in setting and achieving goals to promote your overall wellness! We are a friendly and welcoming group who love to chat when we have time, but please also feel free to join us if you want to just focus on your goals. No pressure here to address everyone; share as little or as much as you want!

We have been doing this challenge for many years now. While it is not strictly about fitness goals, we agree that our daily life goals work together with our fitness goals to make us happier and more balanced, so we combine them in this challenge. Feel free to join us! You can tailor it to your schedule if you need to take a week off for vacation or only count so many days. Whatever works for you!

Premise: Choose your goals for the month. Every time you complete a goal you get a point. Multiply your number of daily goals by the number of days in the month. This is your max total points. If you choose, reward yourself for reaching a certain percentage of your max possible (I use 90% for my personal goal), multiply by your max to get your total goal points. I also give myself extra credit options.

Vannie's December goals

1. Get up by 7:00 on weekdays
2. Bedtime at 11:10 every night
3. Housework for at least 20 minutes every weekday

4. Activity for Cyric 2 days/week (nature walk, dog park, brain games, nosework, basement agility--I have no idea how realistic this goal is and will need to do some prep work and reading to make it happen)
5. Train Cyric at least 5 days/week
6. Brush Cyric's teeth 5 days/week

7. PT rehab 3 days/week.
8. Foam roll/ball massage 2 days/week
9. Strength training 3 days/week
10. Yoga/stretch daily
11. Inversion/slant board daily

12. Daily meditation and gratitude
13. Daily ODB and prayer journal

Big projects this month: declutter, clean and organize spare room and gym

Extra credit:
1. 7 hours of sleep (10 pts)
2. 20000 steps
3. New workout done
4. Running with Cyric
5. 10 BOSU pushups, 30 BOSU squats, 50 kettlebell swings

Max possible points: 234 (avg 7.5 pts/day)
Points goal (90%): 211 (avg 6.8 pts/day)
Reward: personal satisfaction!

Dec 1 pts (out of avg 8) ~ %
Dec 2-8 pts (out of avg 53) ~ %
Dec 9-15 pts (out of avg 53) ~ %
Dec 16-22 pts (out of avg 53) ~ %

1. supplements/vitamins
2. 75 oz water
3. Daily Devotion
4. walk, dvd, or youtube
5. Keep up with Daily Exercise Chart
6. Declutter: Puttering approach

Extra credit: 1 pt each
1. additional walk, dvd, or youtube clip.
2. massage

Total Points: 186 Goal: 167 pts

This morning was 2 mile walk with Cyric, 2.4 miles on the treadmill with VA Alberta Rockies Hike plus 10 minutes of backwards walking, Strong Knees stretch and Cathe XTrain Chest, Back & Shoulders premix 3. I can't wait till my heavy weights are actually heavy!

Working on inside Christmas decorations. I have to redo my outside lights. The heavy snow and then freezing rain on top flattened the bushes and pushed my lights off. They're buried under frozen snow now. I spent so much time getting them just right! Argh!

I'm really hoping to be better about posting this month, not just my workouts but personals. I've been so bad about that and answering emails! Must change this.

It's cloudy here, maybe rain tomorrow. I've been trying to ride my bike outdoors, but I'm either busy that day or it's raining. I have been doing Jessica Smith workouts in the house, so trying to keep up!

I put out some Christmas decorations this morning, but we still have to put up the tree and decorate it. I'm waiting for dd to come home from work. She always helps me decorate, so either tonight or tomorrow, depending on how tired she is when she gets home.

MT, that sounds really exciting! Have they won a state championship before? Best of luck to them and have a great time at the game.

Today was a gorgeous day! I tried to spend as much time outside as I could. I'm getting in the Christmas mood. I wrote my first Christmas card today along with an early gift to my mom. I think I'll get some Christmas music going tomorrow while I'm getting caught up on record keeping. I did a little of Cathe's basic step this evening, some PT exercises throughout the day and checked out a Jeremy Ethier youtube video that has a great tutorial.
