Good advice for all.

That's why it doesn't happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand." The Velveteen Rabbit |

I stand with Susan P by being inspired in a negative way, to not become helpless and sick due to one's own detrimental health behaviors.
In a positive way, there is a lady who does not know me and I don't know her. I saw her walking at the beach. It was a cold and windy day, and she was walking confidently into the wind, enjoying the birds and scenery. She was maybe five years older than me, and had let her hair grow naturally gray in a simple blunt cut. She looked fit and healthy in her winter leggings, a trim insulated coat and walking boots. This lady keeps reappearing in my mind and continues to motivate me without her even knowing it. |

Positive Inspiration:
* My DH inspires me. He has finished every rotation he has ever started. Even if he doesn't like the instructor. (Thank heavens for the "Less Tony" option!) * So many VFers who are facing serious life and health challenges who still find ways to be active. Negative Inspiration: * Assorted friends and relatives. * Trips to Walmart. * All those drug ads during the evening news.

My mother, although in a very sad way. She is morbidly obese, largely immobile, and suffering from any number of health problems. I love her dearly, and I accept her as she is, but when I'm 73, I want to be fit, active, and running after my grandchildren.
