I got a text from an old friend who remembered I liked 'Emotion in Motion', I went to YouTube to listen and remember. RIP Ric.

Wow, Ric Ocasek. I was a huge Cars fan and remember first seeing them when they performed with Cheap Trick at the Palladium back in 1978 (I still have my ticket stub).

Me too, on both counts. So sad.

It is odd to think that Ric was the same age as my mom. I didn't realize he was that old. I figured he was in his 60s.

VERY sad about this one. I loved watching Cokie Roberts! She did so many amazing things for women in the press, especially in the political arena.
I didn't know that she was a co-founder of NPR!

Amazing, amazing woman!

Sad about this too; I didn't know that she had breast cancer. Seems that I have heard her on NPR within the past 6 months or so? They are calling her a "founding mother" of NPR.

I grew up watching her. I did not know she was ill.

Her sister was the mayor of Princeton, NJ. She also passed away from cancer.

I remember when she first had breast cancer many years ago (I was in college at the time). I guess it came back all these years later. So sad. I will miss her commentary and voice.

She wrote a book about the "founding mothers" of America. One of the very few books I've signed out of the library more than once (I love American colonial and revolutionary history). Not surprisingly, it's about the mothers and wives of the founding fathers.
