Paine I'll have to look for the sumos!

Pat, still feeling good about the new pillows. They are from Nappler; I'll write a review eventually.

Happy Monday, which has been another Blursday here. I'm actually off this afternoon because I am going to get a baseline DEXA scan.

Beth, Sumo season is short. They are only available between January and April so you'll have to look right now for them before their season is over.

I didn't get a formal work-out in yesterday, but sure as heck got in some functional fitness after I went on a scrubbing rampage in the bathroom. If I ever remodel my bathroom, that big jetted tub is a goner. I could almost host a party in there ( NO worries!!! I'm perfectly fine with private bathing, LOL!). It's also deep and I could see someone breaking a hip trying to get in and out, especially someone petite. I'm a shower girl anyway.

Today:
BFR training - stability ball wall squats - 30 reps x 3 sets, step ups - 30 reps each side (meaning each leg leading x 30 reps) x 3 sets holding 5 lb DB's, bridge with feet on platform - 30 reps x 3 sets
50 stability ball crunches

I think I shall have some DOMS tomorrow thanks to those step ups.

I was going to do Lee's live streaming class this evening, but worked 12 hours (just logged off) and I am thoroughly pooped. Going to wind down and hit the sack early this evening after I use one of my torture devices on my tired legs. I'll write more about my torture devices one day - really enjoying the hand held massager from Bob and Brad.

Good morning all. Yesterday featured:

~ Holden Qigong 03/26/21, first half
~ Winsor Lower Body Pilates, hips and waist workout
~ Day 1 of Kassandra's evening yoga

It is SO glorious out today, I need to get out there for a walk.

Cyana, I never would thought one of those jacuzzi bathtubs had such liabilities. Cleaning all those jets has to be a major PITA, now that you mention it! I also missed Lee's live class, and for the same reasons as you.

Beth - I love my .... My Pillow ROTF. I hear the MPs are a love it or hate it item.

Paine, I thought Kassandra's first practice was okay, but probably won't do it again. her affirmations.

Greetings to all. I hope Sherry is doing okay.

Today is my planned rest day. I went to 2 markets early this morning and it's nice to see that all the shelves are well stocked.

Cyana, we have a big jetted tub too and never use it. It takes forever to fill up and the fiberglass is difficult to clean. I'd take a tub/shower combo any day over the big jetted tub. We only use our separate shower stall.
Does your TENS unit work for pain?

Pat, enjoy your walk in that beautiful weather!

I'm waving to everyone!

Hello mat mavens!

Yesterday’s workouts:
~ neighbourhood walk
~30 min rebounding
~Jessica’s WS3: Yoga Stretch & Strength

Regarding bathtubs.....we had a jetted tub in one house and I agree it was PITA to clean. I’ve heard the the ones that circulate air through the water are much better & more sanitary than the ones that actually circulate the water. We have a fairly large freestanding tub, no jets, & we love it. I’m definitely a bath person in cooler weather. If I get a cold, I soak in Epson salts with a few drops of eucalyptus essential oil.

And pillows....DH likes his My Pillow although the MP guy’s antics have definitely soured him on it. I couldn’t use an MP, bothered my neck. I have a kidney shaped memory foam one. I do have an MP travel pillow & a cylindrical one (aka the tampon ) and I like both, but not to sleep on. I admit they sure wash up well & look like new.

Back later to post my workouts....
Waves to all!

I am excited - I just signed up for this Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy Essentials Training for June!
https://pryt.com/product/phoenix-ris...ine-june-2021/

It's online, mostly webinars, but it includes a 1:1 session as well. I sounds right up my alley with the combination of yoga-psychology-Buddhism-neuroscience.

Pam, I had to look up shinrin-yoku, but I have heard of forest bathing; sounds wonderful! And very cool that you are doing your friend's yoga challenge.

Pat, I couldn't even consider a MyPillow at this point!

cyana, definitely report on all of your devices! I'm interested in the Bob & Brad massager - is it their own brand or something they recommend?

Paine I'm going grocery shopping Friday, so I can check for the sumos then.

Sending thoughts and well-wishes to everyone...Sandra, Sherry, Garrie, Carolyn, and those we haven't seen in awhile, Linda, Anny, and anyone else I am missing!

Morning all Yesterday featured:

~ Lunch walk
~ MR's Home Improvement - abs, hamstrings and glutes
~ Day 2 of Kassandra's evening yoga
~ Almost 7,000 steps

I enjoyed the Kassandra, 15 minutes of yin all on the back. Loved the affirmation of the day - "I did my best today, and that is enough."

I'll be back to catch up later!

Pat, one of my yoga students gave me a book yesterday (she was cleaning out things and thought I might like it). It's from Blue Mountain Arts, which I loved when I was in college but now find a bit sappy. However, there is a poem I liked from Robert Browning that is somewhat similar to the Kassandra affirmation:

"If you can sit at set of sun
And count the deeds that you have done
And counting find
One self-denying act, one word
That eased the heart of him that heard -
One glance most kind,
Which fell like sunshine where he went,
Then you may count that day well spent."
