ACE video on back pain do's & dont's
I've been incorporating more yoga for the past 2 weeks (like some others around here) but I've also noticed a little discomfort in my low back. I decided to go to American Council on Exercise website & found the following video which really interested me so I thought I'd share.
What struck me was that i teach yoga 2x a week (& now have been trying for daily yoga as i said above) & in my classes i do lots of knees to chest and similar moves at the end (esp. dead bug or happy baby -- those are where i have felt the most discomfort). According to this video, those moves can cause discomfort in certain cases. Anyway, I'll definitely be doing less of those and will continue with cat/cow & planks which i also do every class. Hope this helps someone else who may experience back discomfort... http://www.acefitness.org/blog/1580/...and-don-ts-for
