What's Your Favorite Calorie Counter App?

I am looking for a calorie counter app that is easy to use, when most of the food I eat, I make myself. I seldom use mixes or pre-made salads, etc.

I am OK with paying for the app, but unwilling to pay a monthly fee.

Recommendations of calorie counters you like? TIA.

My favorite is myfitnesspal. You can save your favorites, even homemade things, so that you don't have to recalculate the calories everytime you make it. It's free.

I like My Fitness Pal, too. It has so many different things saved. We have a meal delivery service which delivers healthy meals (includes calorie counts and other nutrition information) - and even though they are local, the majority of their meals are listed there.

One caveat - I have my fitbit connected and it gives me extra calories for steps. I stay within my original count as I don't think the extra calories count.

This going to be much easier than I thought! I have downloaded both recommended apps. So far, have only played with MyFitness. It easy to import recipes and than edit to record the changes I made to the recipe. MyFitness automatically changed the calorie count.

I even easily found a favorite recipe to import from a 1970's cookbook.

Thanks for all the comments! They encouraged me to give the apps a try, even though I make almost all of our meals.

The nice thing about My Fitness Pal is that it's also a website - and the app and the website sync, so if you're at a computer it's sometimes easier to enter things via the computer.

MFP is good. It simply has the best food database.
However, I use MyNetDiary Pro. I like that it can show me my macros. It also counts my steps. I have given up my Fitbit.

Andtcktoo-Thanks for the reminder that I can use my computer to access apps. I just recently got my first iPhone and still learning my way around.

Mizach- It is tempting to get the advantages of a fibit (at least the benefits I would use) with a calorie counter app.
