Gene Deitch, who created Popeye and Tom and Jerry has died. I spent about as much time watching cartoons when I was little as I do online now!

Pat, David Bowie was so charismatic. He had an amazing smile. There is a wonderful three part British series about his career. Pm me if you want me to see it.

I am glad I saw him live in the 1980s because his 1990 show was disappointing. He performed the whole show standing behind a screen! It was weird to hear him and not see him. To be honest, that turned me off on liking him for awhile. I think that was the only tour he performed that way.

RIP Eddie Van Halen. He was such a great guitarist. I did not realize he held 3 guitar patents.
patents
I knew he was ill but did not realize it had progressed.
Thanks for the music Eddie.

Pretty amazing. For a birthday present, I pretty recently got my husband a 'build your own' guitar kit for an EVH guitar which took him weeks and weeks to put together, paint, finish, etc. He did a great job with it, and I'm really glad now I gave him that, with this timing and how huge a fan my husband always was.

Maybe I’m just an old cranky pants, but I felt bad for Eddie Van Halen’s wife (and Valerie’s husband) when Valerie Bertinelli posted something about until I see you again “my love” and how fortunate she was that she and Wolfie were there to hold Eddie when he died. I would imagine his current wife was there, too. I’m all for exes getting along, but I think it would have bothered me if my husband’s ex had posted something similar when he died.

I wondered about that also, but I think Valerie is just a very loving person. I met her once, and my husband met her three times. She could not have been sweeter. She seemed like a really genuinely nice person.
