Happy 2020!!

1) Cathe LITE Rev'd Up Rumble plus Michelle Dozois One on One Lower Body workout - the Cathe workout was an easier one, but that's what I've been enjoying for cardio as I get back to 100%. I don't want to push too hard. This was my first time doing the Michelle Dozois workout. It's 30 minutes. There's not much of a warmup, so if I hadn't just done the kickboxing workout, I would've started with some other Cathe warmup. The exercises were good. She doesn't go super fast and you really feel what she's going for. I'll definitely do this one again.
2) Walk halls 30 minutes
3) Cathe Live PHA 2020 - LOVE!!!!! The pace on this one was brisk. It was 8 exercises in a round, done twice and then another 8 exercises gone through twice. The time flew by. I liked the pace and I thought it was a fun workout. I tacked on 5 minutes of abs after.
4)-10) Crazy Time!! My neice's baby boy 4 1/2 months old - so cute!! - had been sick with a virus for a while. They took him to the doctor's several times and he was in the ER the week before and they gave him fluids. But then his left eye drooped and wasn't being responsive. So I went over to their house at 11pm to stay with their 4 year old so they could take the baby back to the hospital. Long story short - he has a very rare, cancerous brain tumor. Needless to say, any schedules went out the window as all our time has been spent at the hospital or taking care of the 4 year old.
11) My body was so sore from sitting in the hospital and being tense all the time, I HAD to do something. I did a Cathe Live metabolic workout (not sure exactly which one) and it felt so great!
12) Hospital and babysitting (4 kids this time - help!!)
13) Cathe LITE cardio workout and Barlates Mat Inner thigh - fun cardio and I also liked the Inner thigh mat work - she uses a pilates ball - it was a good burn but not impossible.
14) walk 30 minutes
15) BodyRock boxing bootcamp - so I was looking for an off-brand (aka cheaper) version of a bosu ball. Somehow I ended up on the bodyrock site and they offered 1 month free plus 3 months at 75% off (so 3 months for 3.75 a month) with code thanks (if it still works). Being a sucker for a good deal, I signed up. The workout was good. I'm always looking to mix things up, so we'll see how it is. I ended up getting my cheap bosu from amazon. You guys here make me want things.....
16) walk 30 minutes
17) decluttering and reorganizing, plus hospital and airport and errands
18) Cathe Live Burn it Bootcamp 280 - this was an easier bootcamp and I didn't mind. It was fun and it was shorter (45 minutes) which was perfect
19) rest
20) BodyRock Hiit circuit - did the first 30 minutes and then my daughter called on her drive to work so I talked to her instead.
21) walk 40 minutes
22) LMOD Body Combat #77 - 45 minute - I love this version because it's just cardio - no strength thrown in. Fun Fun Fun!! Dan is as hot as ever
23) walk 30 minutes
24) nothing - eye doctor appointment and sister was in town
25) LMOD Body Combat #77 - 30 minute version - yes, it was that fun! plus Cathe FT Advanced Lower Body workout - but I didn't do all of the abs
26) Spending the day with my daughter - so eating cake and pizza and watching Netflix
27) planned to workout, but work took over and never had a chance
28) walk 30 minutes
29) Cathe Live PHA 2020 - I seem to be repeating myself this month. I was going to do the latest live workout but it froze, so I just picked this one and it played fine. Still fun
30) walk 30 minutes
31) Bodystep 115 - 30 minutes and Xtrain Chest,Back and Shoulders (skipped a couple for time). I think I'm going to be sore tomorrow.

Happy New Year !!! Wishing everyone a happy and healthy 2020! May we meet all our goals this year!

Cont. of Week 10

1. ICE: Chiseled Lower Body Blast + COUNTRY HEAT: Down & Dirty. My opinion regarding CH hasn’t changed. These will definitely be getting the Yv2 treatment, used mostly as a companion while listening to music or podcasts. I can mute Amber and still do the workout.
2. ICE: Chiseled Upper Body 5 Gone Premix + COUNTRY HEAT: Bring The Heat
3. (S) CATHE LIVE: Love Me Some Kickbox P.M. COUNTRY HEAT: Trail Ride. I liked this one the most of all the CH workouts that I’ve done so far. Maybe getting used to Amber? She is so stiff and it’s obvious to me that she’s going 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 the whole time even when she’s not counting out loud, which is something she does a lot. These are not bad workouts, my expectations were too high. I thought these were dance workouts. These are more hi/lo, mostly low, with lots of side stepping stops and starts. Saw the new Star Wars movie, it was just ok to me, lots of one liners and felt fragmented. I’m not a diehard Star Wars person so there’s that.
4. FTA: Total Body + CIZE: Crazy 8’s. Really liked Cize. Shaun does a lot of taking it from the top layering but I liked it a more than I liked Country Heat. Seemed to flow better.
5. ICE: Rock’em Sock’em Kickbox + CIZE: You Got This!. I enjoyed You Got This. We took it from the top at least 1000 times (har, har) but I didn’t get tired of it. Shaun T has lots of charisma so I’ll follow him 1000 x 10. This is going to be great while listening to my own music or a podcast. No extra thought required, just move. I got more steps doing You Got This (4881 steps) than I had doing RESE (4846 steps).

Week 11 !!!! Wooo Hoooo!!!

8. ICE: Low Impact Sweat Timesaver + COUNTRY HEAT: Country Swing. Was listening to a podcast during CH.

11. LIS: Turbo Barre (warm-up, upper/lower body conditioning, fire walker segment, stretch)
12. (S) CATHE LIVE: Metabolic Mish Mosh. Overnight Friday through mid-day we got about 5 inches of rain, then fast and furious sleet and a quick 3 inches of snow. Driving this morning, it was that hard, crunchy snow. No plows came through my subdivision. Saw Little Woman yesterday, I enjoyed it! When we came out of the theatre, we were in the sleet/snow phase. I decided to skip the grocery stores because of how crowded the stores are when it’s snowing.

Week 12 - last week; hallelujah!

14. FTA Bootcamp Timesaver #3. Couldn’t get up, hit the snooze and then would reset my alarm to a later time and then hit the snooze again, did this after work.

Fit Tower/ICE/LIS 90 DayWrap-up: I enjoyed doing this rotation. I think I only did one Beast workout but I wanted to do more. I enjoyed having the Cathe Live downloads as subs for the Fit Tower workouts. I like the Fit Tower workouts but a little goes a long way. They’re good to have as lower intensity subs though. Week 11 was the hardest week because I was tired and had a hard time getting up at my usual time. Managed to maintain my XTrain weight loss and lose 2 additional pounds. I ate the same but for me, heavy splits are the way to go for weight loss. It was good to be able to maintain prior results. I wanted to do more stretching/core work but that didn’t happen.

I’m taking a week off from anything formal and then starting Cathe’s 6 month STS/Gym Style rotation which is the full STS, then 1 month of Meso 2, then 5 weeks of Gym Styles. My goal is to complete the rotation but I’m reserving the right to stop if I’m not getting the results that I want, which are strength gains, some muscle & weight loss.

20. Happy MLK Jr Day!. Work holiday for me! Too cold to do anything, although I did go to Target. A.M. YV2: Sweat Sensation + 1/2 of Move Your Body. P.M. Yv2: Work It! Shake It!

23. rest day.... It has snowed all day today. Temps have held steady at 33/34 degrees. It’s supposed to snow all night. Commute should be interesting tomorrow. Movie: I saw Bad Boys For Life last weekend. I enjoyed it, lots of laughs.

26. LITE: Cardio Party. First I did the Scrambled premix 1 but then when we got to the Cardio Crush, decided that I didn’t want to do step so did the full workout (minus warm-up) again. Also, did the workout while listening to a podcast. .

Week 1 - STS Meso 1

29. STS Meso 1, Disc 1 Chest, Shoulders, Biceps. I had been so looking forward to starting this STS rotation but after finishing this workout the word that came to mind was anticlimactic. I had forgotten all the things that annoy me about Meso 1. Way too many push-ups, picking up/putting away equipment, the explosion of weights in my workout area. I hope my commitment to this rotation doesn’t waiver. P.M. Yv2: 2nd Half of Rock It Out! & Sweat Sensation. I’m aiming to do 4 to 5 days of cardio as recommended by Cathe.
30. X10 Low Impact + Yv2: 1st half or Work It! Shake It!
31. STS M1D2: Back & Triceps. P.M. Yv2 Move Your Body

1. KCM Pump - I thought I'd pop in a KCM workout because I was thinking of buying from her sale, but I looked at my kcm collection and see that I have 13! I don't need more, so I've talked myself out of it. I'll keep checking my library because I'd still like to try them. Just remembered to mention that I did 2 extra sets of lower body, one from the dvd, the other was floor work. Added 10 minute Leslie

3. Jessica Smith - I'm still sore from KCM's workout! 15 minute walk + 17 minute total body timesaver + 11 minutes of the Lower Body Circuit Walk. 1 mile walk outside at brisk pace.

5. (both ntm) Ignite - Burn, Sexy Abs Cardio Sculpt - Women's Health Ignite (original dvd is called 20 Minute Workouts) Burn - I turned this 22 minute workout into more than 25 because I had to stop and go back with each new move since she didn't demonstrate, but you do the circuit twice more so I only stopped the first time through. Jeanette Jenkins SACS: I did chapters 3 (total body), 7 (booty), 10 (abs,thighs,butt), and stretch.
6. Jessica Smith 2 miles - I didn't feel like doing anything, so this is my "better than nothing" option
7. (ntm) Booty Barre plus Abs & Arms - It didn't look or feel familiar, so I'll call it new. info from Mary's site: Fusion Warm-Up (7 minutes), Killer Arms (14.5 minutes),Booty Barre & Abs (34.5 minutes). I didn't do the final 23 minutes since I was out of time.
8. 2 mile walk (1 mile holding groceries.) I've had a car for months now, but if I don't get up to do a dvd, I find a way to get some exercise. This always leaves me a sweaty mess.
9. terrible headache, slept it off. later did just a 1 mile Leslie walk
10. Leslie, Ignite - Build (ntm) - 1 mile leslie followed by women's health Ignite Build . This was much better than Burn, because she demonstrated the strength moves, giving me time to figure out my weights. I didn't exactly feel "worked out" after, so I'm going to have to figure out how to use these workouts. I don't know if going heavier would help, but maybe I'll do that next time. I used 12s for biceps/overhead press, 30 for goblet squat (dropped to 25 because something felt off, but normally 30 is fine), 12 for reverse lunge w/twist (will increase), 15 for single leg deadlift, 15 for chest press (will go heavier), one 15 for bridge (will use 2 next time).
11. Leslie, Cardio Lean (ntm) - 1 mile Leslie, Tracey Mallett's Fuse Dance Cardio Lean workout 1 - some exercises work the legs and booty, but for the most part it's not too challenging. There's no cool down/stretch at the end of this workout. 1 Leslie mile. Oh yeah, so about yesterday's workout that didn't leave me feeling "worked out"... I was incredibly sore last night and this morning. I don't think I'll be heavy-ing up next time.
12. Leslie, MM21 Strength(ntm) - 20 minute Leslie Walk Off Fat Fast, Montenegro Method Strength - Upper. I really should read reviews first. I only wanted to work the upper body, but his workout has combination moves. I went light for first set doing lower moves, then heavier for second set, skipping the lower body. Finished with 10 minutes Leslie WOFF.
13. Tendu Toning Ballerina Strong (ntm) - I did 40 minutes, then moved on to the stretch. If you're into a no-nonsense, no smiles, no fun, workout, this is it! lol it was just something I noticed; I don't need an instructor to be my best friend. She worked my legs and butt to the point that I wanted to cry. No best friend would do that! During the "table top" chapter, where you lean over the chair, my standing leg was just jelly. I had to get on all fours for the second round. I'll definitely have to build up to this. And I didn't even use ankle weights or a band.
14. Leslie - 2 miles, 10 minutes - had a terrible headache (as opposed to a wonderful one?), so I didn't want to do anything with too much movement. Halfway through, I remembered I had Bootcamp Boogie but was too lazy to change discs. haha @ AMD's post today. It looks like I'm done with raking leaves, although I have no idea where the last batch went. I think they got blown away with the strong winds last night. Sorry, neighbors! And Jane hasn't been heard from in days. I hope the dog wasn't her undoing. lol
15. 3 miles Leslie - once again, I woke up with a headache so there isn't much I want to do under those conditions. Tomorrow will be something different, since we're halfway through the month and I have more virgins to meet.
16. 2 miles Leslie - today is "tomorrow" and I did the same thing. ugh. I did this later in the day because I wasn't up to getting up early.
17. Standing Slim, BB bridge series - I woke up with a sore neck and shoulder. gah! I was going to do Bootcamp Boogie but couldn't make it past the warm-up with this pain. I threw in Barre 3 Standing Slim and modified just a tiny bit, it's already a gentle workout. I then got on all fours to see how that felt: not good. I tried my back and that was fine, so I did Ballet Beautiful Bridge Series. ouch!
18. Monterey walk - we decided to visit Monterey today. It's only an hour drive (good traffic), but we don't go too often. Fitbit shows 7 miles of walking and it feels like it!
19. Jessica Smith total body - still wanted to be careful with the neck, so I did what I knew wouldn't hurt me. I did a total body timesaver from one dvd, and belly blasting strength training from another. I've done these two back to back a few times, and keep forgetting that they have similar moves. fool me three or four times, shame, shame, shame on me.
20. Leslie, Ignite Sweat (ntm) - Leslie 10 minute walk as a warm up, which I realized didn't prepare me for the Sweat workout. I'll have to warm up with Cathe or KCM next time. Ignite Sweat, whew! I didn't get too sweaty because it's darn cold in my work out room, but it left me wanting air. At the end I took a minute or two to get my heart rate down before going to the floor. I finished with a 5 minute Leslie walk to further cool down. I have officially done all three Ignite workouts, so that's one virgin done.
21. MM21 Strength Lower (ntm), Jessica - KCM Strength & Stamina warm up since I knew MM21 doesn't have them (grrr), MM21 lower - I didn't know what weight to use so I grabbed 12s and I was feeling it by rep 5 of exercise 1. haha I used 12s throughout, but right now I'm waiting for the DOMS to kick in. If it doesn't, then I'll go heavier next time, for at least some of the exercises. Finished with Jessica's Power Pick Up (15 minutes)
22. rest day, but did some Gina Buber walks at different times of the evening adding up to 34 minutes according to my Fitbit. It was fun. Now to decide which ones to buy, if only to support her. I always feel guilty when doing their YouTube workouts and not buying a dvd or two. haha
23. KCM Pump - extra set of a leg chapter, plus additional 1 minute bridges with one 15 and one 12 since those were closest, and 1 minute per leg on all fours (30 seconds leg lifts, 30 seconds fire hydrants. ouch!)
24. 2 mile Gina B. YouTube - i wasn't going to do anything, but this looked like fun and I couldn't stop once I got started. I later ordered a Dance That Walk 2 dvd.
25. KBKB Strength (ntm) (scorcher) - I don't know what happened, am I a wimp, or is this hard? This near killed me and I didn't even use a heavy weight. My heaviest dumbbell was 10 pounds. I was wiped out but didn't know it until I tried to do a Gina B. walk and discovered that I had no energy. I think I made it through a minute before calling it quits. I'm going to have to try this KBKB workout again eventually to see if it was a one-off.
26. nothing, I got sick over night, woke up feeling weak and tired.
27. Ignite - Build, 10 min Jessica Smith -- I used the same weights as last time since I had some serious DOMS and didn't want to push it. I finished with 10 minutes of a JS walk. I wanted to do Gina B. but I think I've been doing her walks lately and I'm afraid I'll tire of her.
28.Jessica Smith Dance Walk, Jazzercise Burlesque quick - I used to think JS walks were fun, because all I had was Leslie for comparison, but now that I've been doing Gina B.'s, I think Jessica's are haha, but I'll still do them since I like her so much. 29. "rest" - I did manage to get in two separate Gina B. miles because I just had to.
30. ntm - Kettlebody By Brook - Bell Body Sculpt, 15 min JS - There's no warm up, so I went light and shallow with the first exercise (squats). I used a kb, because I didn't know if a dumbbell would work, it will and that's what I'll do next time since a few moves were awkward with the kb I have. I don't know what it was about this workout, but it's safe to say I'm not in love. Maybe I'll feel differently next time; I plan on doing a proper warm up, and will use heavy weights when possible to challenge myself.
31. ntm - Bellyfit Elements - Air, 10 minute Leslie - I bought these workouts for the cardio segments only, and had done Fire many times but hadn't tried the others, so when Air literally jumped out at me when I opened the case, I figured I had to try it. The moves are simple, but not always easy for me to pick up on, and I have no rhythm, but I had fun anyway.
