November by the numbers

1. 10 Minutes to Flat Abs - Sadie Lincoln. (Two 10-minute chapters, plus 5 minute bonus) I'd done this before and it had never felt this challenging, so I think I'm still feeling the effects of yesterday's workout. Added on two Walk Blasters.
2. 20 Minute Body - Primal Movements. "Boom!" "Baby!" He's kind of annoying, but I don't know why I remembered this workout as dreadful, when it's not. It was actually fun. Leslie Walk Blasters - lower body blast. For the squat/reverse lunge combo, I did side lunge/reverse lunge. I really felt it in the glutes. Speaking of the glutes, I need to work them more, so I might start adding in a 10 minute butt workout in place of a walk.
3. 30 Minute Big Burn - Leslie's Walk off Fat Fast. I'd forgotten that I did this recently but didn't want to Joni O and nothing else in mind, so I kept doing it. Add-on: KCM Body Design kickboxing with weights - because I didn't want to do anything with squats or lunges, but this had very little kicking! And it had squats and reverse lunges! What the heck, Kelly?! I'd forgotten about that, too. Oh well, I still liked it.
4. Get Fit at 40+ - wu, full body workout, cd. shoulders: 12,12,15, static lunges: 12,15,20, deadlifts: 15,20,20, goblet squats 25,25,30 (need heavier), floor press: 15,20,20. 10 MS Butt Lift - Upright Booty
5. 50/50 Cardio & Weights - cardio & abs, folllowed by 10 MS Butt Lift - Cardio Booty Camp
6. Body Target 60 - good workout, not sure if it was a virgin, but it felt new. I did the 30 minute cardio sculpt + the 10 minute lower body workout.
7. Circuit Burnout 90 - Abs and Burn, plus Jessica's 15 minute belly blast walk
8. Free Friday: I stole this idea, sorry! 2 mile Leslie AHA, 2 miles outside
9. Supreme 90 - Total Body. ugh, I'd forgotten how they zoom through the workout. I did 8-12 reps with good form, unlike some of the backgrounders.
10. out of town
11. neck pain, headache. no formal workout, but raked for about 30 minutes
12. neck pain, headache.
13. 30 MTF Start Here - the neck's not as bad, still feeling the headache. grrr I thought I'd do something "easier", so I did workout 2 using lighter than usual weights for back (12s), but the usual weights for everything else. I finished with 1 Leslie mile.
14. KCM 30 MTF Total Body Kickbox - workout 1, plus 10 minute Leslie
15. MM 21 Endurance workout 1 - (virgin), this would be near perfect, but the burpees killed it. haha Actually, the burpees aren't too bad since she goes slow first and then speeds it up, but at a reasonable pace, and they're not endless, so I should quit complaining. I previewed workout 2 and it's lower body intensive, so I look forward to trying that someday. Jessica Smith 15 Minute Fast Fat Blast - I mostly kept with Debbie because it was supposed to be used as a cool down.
16. 360 Abs - not one of Jessica's better-cued workouts, so I don't reach for it often. Jessica 15 minute Power Pick Up. My glutes are very sore from yesterday's workout, so now I'm scared to try workout 2, which looked more glute focused.
17. 500 Calorie Workout - this is a long workout, and I did look at the "title elapsed" on the dvd player at the 45 minute mark, hoping for it to be over soon, but then I got back into it. Kelsie's a good instructor, but for some reason I couldn't understand the concept of single-single-double. haha
18. Jari ExRipped 1000 - interval 1, but I skipped abs and pushups (short on time)
19. nothing, didn't want to wake my sick husband who slept in guest room across from exercise room
20. Barre3 Burner - he's still sick, so I had to do a quiet workout
21. Leslie 3 Mile Slim & Sleek Walk - this was boring as hell. I used to really like these walks, and I can't figure out why. The music is terrible, and I don't really notice the music. I guess I wasn't in the mood, but had to do another quiet workout. You just wait until he's better, I'm going to bounce around like Tigger.
22. Metabolic Strength volume 3 - I felt a challenge, but it didn't make me sweat. I don't know if I like not sweating, which is funny because before I started exercising, I hated to sweat. added on a 10 minute Leslie
23. Breathless Body 3 - I found the sweat! haha wu, exercises 1-6, cd. I followed the modifier for just a couple of rounds of two exercises. added 10 minute Leslie
24. Jeanette Jenkins 21 Day Total Body Circuit - Circuit B, plus the overhead shoulder press and overhead triceps chapters. added on 10 Minute Solution Butt Lift - Upright Booty
25. Leslie Ultimate 5 Day Walk Plan - I did 3 miles in the morning, 2 later.
26. Jillian One Week Shred - Strength, followed by 10 MS Butt Lift - butt lift
27. Jillian One Week Shred - Cardio. "there's no warmup because it's cardio." WHAT?! So I did the first round of circuit 1 low impact. I also didn't do those single hand burpees. She's crazy if she thinks I'm gonna do that. I finished with 10:30 of Jessica Smith Dance Party, i think it's called
28. out of town
29. out of town
30. Jessica 3 Weight Loss Walks - the 30 minute walk + 11 minutes of the 40 minute walk

1. Cathe Step Moves

2. XTrain All Out Low Impact Hiit Timesaver Floor Only Premix. I wanted to quit after ever single drill.

I ended up buying 5 more Cathe Live Downloads (all step workouts) during this sale. I think I’m set with new step workouts for now.....until her new dvds are shipped!

Week 3
3. Rest Day

4. XTrain Cardio Leg Blast.

5. I had to switch some of workouts around this week on the XTrain rotation. Today was XTrain Chest, Back & Shoulders rounds 1-5. I was so wiped out, I just couldn’t get the energy to finish the workout. (Slept awful). Then I walked around my basement for another 15 minutes just to get a few steps in.

6. XTrain All Out Low Impact Hiit Step premix and LITE EXtended Stretch #2.

7. My own mix of GS Legs. Just couldn’t face XTrain Legs again.

8. Mile 3 of Leslie’s 3 Fast & Fun Miles and XTrain Burn Sets: Biceps & Triceps.

9. Cathe Live download #192 Advanced Step Choreography. This one was very fun! Thanks for the recommendation Jane! I really like this one!

Week 4

10. Rest Day

11. Legs & Abs standing, chair/fire walker and barre premix.
Dang, what season are we in? I thought it was Fall??? Here in Michigan it definitely feels like winter! Yesterday we got 6 inches of snow and today the high is only going to be 27 degrees! What the heck! It feels like January not early November! Ok....rant over!

12. Leslie’s Purple Mile and XTrain Chest, Back & Shoulders rounds 1-5.
Ugh, I went to the thyroid doctor yesterday to review my ultrasound from last week. The doctor I went to last year is no longer there and the new doctor I saw wants me to get a biopsy of 2 of the lumps on my thyroid. She said nothing changed in size at all and they are smaller than 1 cm which is usually when they do a biopsy but those two showed a little calcification so she thinks I should get them biopsied. This is why I hate changing doctors. Now I have this to worry about and deal with on top of worrying about all the DS crap.

13. Slept horrible then got up late and didn’t have time for a workout. I never could talk myself into doing a workout later in the day. I know, excuses, excuses.

14. Cathe Live IMax download

15. Short on time in the morning so I did Burn Sets Biceps in the morning and Burn Sets Triceps later in the afternoon.

16. KCM 30MTF Cardio & Legs premix from Your Best Body instead of XTrain Lower Body Blast

Recovery Week

17 & 18. No workouts. I went for our yearly girls trip up north with my mom, my sister and my aunt. Just got home and unpacked.

19. Leslie’s Walk 15 Mile 5.....Miles 1, 3, & 5.

I’m thinking I’m going to call it quits with my XTrain rotation after 4 weeks. I just have to much to going on right now. DH is on vacation from work next week and I have to get all my Christmas decorations up starting this weekend, (which takes days since I have WAY to much); then, of course, Thanksgiving next week. It is just to busy of a time for me to stress myself out doing a specific rotation. I’ll still keep up the workouts but not going to stress myself out over it.

20. Nothing

21. ICE Metabolic Total Body Mish Mosh premix.

22. 30 minutes of Cathe Live (download) #90 Get Steppin.

23. Cathe Live (download) Timesaver Step Grooves and Gina B. 80’s Walk on YouTube. This was only 15 minutes but very fun.

24. Raked a lot of leaves!

25. Put up Christmas tree and lights on the tree.

26. Cathe Push Pull & 20 minute walk

27. Cathe LITE Cardio Party Hi/Lo combos premix and Calorie Crush

28. Happy Thanksgiving Jenny Ford Hawaii Hiit Step Workout

29. LITE PHA2 One Set Each Exercise Premix

30. Cathe Live Step & Pump download......skipping blast section and did only one of each exercise just to shorten a bit.

November - 30 Days of Thanks

1) Cathe Giant Sets from Strong & Sweaty. Today I'm thankful for workout dvd's. It's super windy here and my internet didn't seem to be working and I'm so thankful that I could do a workout dvd. It was really good too!!
2) Power Step 17 - from power music. What a FUN workout! Good music. Easy to follow choreography. Definitely a winner. Today I'm thankful for my step. I got a new step last year and replaced a really old one from Reebok that wasn't great. Now I have a proper step and 3 risers on each side so I can use it for all kinds of workouts - as a step or as a bench.
3) rest day - thankful for my family today. My sister and niece came over with her 4 yo daughter and infant son. I love holding babies!!!
4) Cathe Live Hiit and Sculpt - this is an easier fun one. You do 10 quick hit rounds (a minute or less for each round), then low weight/high rep upper body, floor lower body work and quick abs. Obvi, I'm super thankful for Cathe Live. It brings so much fun and variety to my workouts.
5) walk 45 minutes at lunch - I'm thankful that even when the weather's bad, I can still get exercise at lunch by walking the halls.
6) Cathe Lite Rev'd Up Rumble plus a timesaver premix from Strong Body Stacked Lower Body - good combo and great calorie burn!! Today I'm thankful that I get to work from home a few days a week. It makes working out at lunch very doable.
7) walk outside 45 minutes - thankful for every day I get to walk outside
8) Cathe Live Upper Body Bootcamp - thought I was finishing up when my boss called and I had to get back to work. After my call with my boss, I unpaused to do the cooldown. To my surprise, Cathe was getting ready to do it all again lol. SO I did the first half of the workout. i thought it flew by!! Thankful for workouts you can cut in half and still feel like you did a complete workout
9) Babysat my niece's kids for the day so no formal workout. Thankful for those kids because I love them and I'm glad I can help take care of them.
10) Had to do laundry, get groceries, etc. etc. etc. Again, no formal workout. But still thankful for a bed with fresh clean sheets and a fridge full of food.
11) Cathe Live Better Body Bootcamp - love this workout. Definitely intermediate, but it's a feel good workout. Thankful for easier Cathe workouts because they're really fun.
12) walk inside 45 minutes Thankful for my work friend who walks with me. We mostly talk about work, but it's still nice to have a friend to walk with.
13) getting a new furnace installed so no workout. Thankful for heat when it's so cold out! Even though we don't have fuel yet because they brought the wrong tanks lol.
14) walk inside 45 minutes - busy day at work but thankful for having a job I like.
15) Cathe Lite Metabolic - I'm pretty much always a fan of Cathe's metabolic workouts and this was no exception. Relatively short too at 41 minutes. Perfect for a busy workday workout. Thankful to see my daughter for a few minutes. She was driving through our town on her way to spend time with her friend who's turning 30. She's coming back on Sunday for the night, but even having 20 minutes with her was great.
16) Transform 7 - from Power Music. I've never done Piyo, but I think this is their version of it. It's some yoga, pilates, mobility and ab work. I was surprised to find that I liked it. Is it wrong that I'm thankful for tv? On a cold day in between getting chores done, i really enjoy taking tv breaks to watch shows I like. So I guess I say it proudly, lol, thankful for tv
17) had my workout clothes on, just getting ready to workout (house was cleaned, dinner was in slow cooker) when my Mom and sister pulled into the driveway. Workout went out the window but thankful for some extra time with my Mom and sister.
18) no workout - my daughter decided to stay an extra day and we got to spend time together. She is such a joy and light in my life and I'm so thankful for her.
19) Power Music RIP workout - didn't have a lot of time so I focused on legs (both leg tracks), back and chest. These workouts are like bodypump. Good music and easy to pick body parts. Got invited to my sister & her daughter's counseling session. My sister's husband died almost 3 years ago and it's been a ROUGH 3 years. I'm thankful that they are being vulnerable and fighting to heal their relationship. Also thankful for a great counselor who is helping them navigate some tough stuff.
20) Cathe Live Love Me Some Cardio Kickboxing. This was a longer than usual cardio only kickboxing workout. It was almost an hour long, but I did skip the last 5 minutes and do abs from Terri Walsh. Thankful for a cardio mood boost and a cool 500 calorie burn.
21) walk the halls at work 45 minutes. Thankful that I had a very productive day at work and was able to cross a lot off my list.
22) Cathe Afterburn - I can't remember the last time I did this workout. Thankful that I lived to tell about it lol. It actually wasn't as bad as I remembered. I did sub some rebounder work for some of the cardio intervals, so that definitely helped make it better. They all look so good in that video.
23) Mixxtreme Mixx workout - inspired by Jane, I bought this set off ebay. Just as she described, it's dream body style exercises but at a slower pace. There is a lot of plank work in this one that's challenging for me, but even exercises that were harder for me were ok because she doesn't do them for too long. She keeps everything moving along. It was fun to do something different Thankful for all of the inspiration I get from everyone here. I love seeing what workouts everyone is doing!
24) Besides doing laundry and bills, spent most of the day in bed watching movies. So very indulgent!!! And I loved it! I got married young (while still in college), I had kids young (24 which I know is not super young), I've always worked full time and today (at 54) I was thankful to have a self care day of rest.
25) Cathe Fit Tower Advanced Total Body - I've had this for a while but I've never tried it til today. I loved it!!! I loved the pace (a little slower so I could use heavier weights) and i loved the exercises. I did the premix with abs and when she went to planks I did some glute bridges on the fit tower. She did them in one of the live classes and it was a great glute burner so I really wanted to throw some in. I hate dragging my fit tower downstairs and back up, but I really like using it. I love some of the different exercises you can do with it. You really don't need to put your step under the FT like she does - I just had mine off to the side and it was fine. T2B, I see you're enjoying this one too Thankful for a fun, new FT workout that I already own.
26) walk outside 45 minutes - I cannot believe I got to walk outside! Thankful for a 50 degree day in late November in upstate NY
27) Thanks Jane for the hot tip on physique 57!! I've wanted to try that one but the cost is so high! Did pure cardio from Peak Fit system plus an Arms & Booty workout from P57. Great workout! Thankful for the people in this forum (Jane specifically) sharing fitness deals!

I don’t know how to do this, but I’m doing it anyway!

Here’s to a great November!

1 - 35 min dog walk. My back is still acting up so I just went slow and steady today.
2 - 30 min dog walk. Back was even worse than yesterday. Just breathing, appreciating how much I'm usually able to do and giving myself some grace. I had plans but my body has other ones.
3 - 30 min dog walk and cleaned ALL THE THINGS. Cleaned out garage, second room & storage shed. Good to know that my back is only hurting as much once I sit down, so keeping moving is where it's at. I'll go back to a light workout tomorrow and see how that goes.
