This time of year I like to read ghost stories up until Halloween, at least.

I'm starting with M.R. James Collected Ghost Stories and will move on to J. S. Le Fanu's Best Ghost Stories.

I'd started a couple other books, but couldn't get into either one so something a bit shorter to hold my attention span sounded good!

If you're a fan of Handmaid's Tale, Vox by Christina Dalcher is in a similar vein and IMO relevant to today's issues and happenings.

I'm really looking forward to reading the sequel to Handmaid's Tale! A friend is supposed to loan me hers.

I'm looking forward to Testaments, the Handmaid's Tale sequel as well. Not sure when I'll get to it; I'm still finishing Les Miserables and I have a number of books on my to-read list.

Just started "Lock Every Door." So far, it's good.

I loved Outliers!

I just finished Michelle Obama’s Becoming for my Oct book club meeting. I quite enjoyed it. Now I am reading Warlight by Michael Ondaatje, also for my book club. It’s very well written, but I’m finding it a bit of a struggle. I’m hoping the ending will somehow bring all the loose ends together.

Me, too! I thought it was really interesting.

I finished Courting Mr. Emerson by Melody Carlson. It was a pretty good light faith-based story. I'm about to start The Trust by Ronald Balson.

I liked Blink and The Tipping Point, but I found Gladwell's book of shorter anecdotes, What the Dog Saw, somewhat boring, so I think that put me off him for awhile!

I finally finished Les Miserables and I now have The Power of the Dog by Thomas Savage on hold at the library (to be a Netflix movie in 2021 starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Moss).
