Margaret Richard Question

If you have most of Margaret's dvds, is it worth it to get her compilations, All My Best and My Body of Work? Do they still feel like "different" workouts? The only ones of hers I don't have are Fitness Becomes You, Strong and Limber, Muscle & Grace, and Raising the Bar.

Hi Bubbles,

I don’t know the answer to your question but I wanted to thank you for sharing your MR rotation and pull-up success. I pulled out an old MR yesterday and can totally see why her sequencing and exercise choices would strengthen you for pull-ups. Being a vidiot at heart I ordered a few more of her DVDs including a couple of compilations. I’m hoping that they’ll work well for add ons. I’ll only use her UB and possibly ab work.

Awww thanks Lannette! I hesitated to post at first, since it seems that my body reacts differently than most people on VF. However, when I saw the similar success another VFer had, I had to chime in Hope you enjoy the rotation!

I think most of Margaret's workouts are fairly similar. She uses the same exercises in most of them. That being said, I really enjoy her compilation dvds and they do seem "different" enough for me. They do splice segments from various other workouts so she's always wearing something different and has different people in the background in each segment, but it doesn't bother or distract me at all. I think the exercise choices are good and the workouts effective. I say go for it .

This probably won't help you Bubbles, but I recently ordered all her compilations, along with Fitness Becomes You, because they are - or more easily made into - shorter full body routines. I know I won't do hour-long workouts any more.

I already have all her Unpluggeds, Good n' Strong and a few others. There will of course be repeat material but it will be sequenced differently which works for me.

I have All My Best Volume 3/4 and like it since when the scenery and backround exercises change, it's like having a new workout I'm not buying all her compilations, though since I have so many of her dvds already.

Gina, I had some sound issues with Fitness Becomes You. Her voice drops out a few times, but it does not interfere with doing the workout. I cannot do hour long strength workouts, so I appreciate her 20-30 minute workouts very much.

I have MBOF and traded it because it is segments of almost every DVD I own and it included the rare portions that I don't like.

For some reason I like AMB better.

Hmmmm....it almost seems like the consensus is to get them. I figure if I can't have Strong & Limber then maybe I can get snippets from the other dvds.

I have all of her workouts except the one she sold on QVC with a small ball.

Since I have done her DVDs almost exclusively for about fifteen years (subbing a Denise Austin or Tracey Mallett once in a while), I need a lot of variety in terms of backgrounds or I get bored. She has her signature moves but in some of the older workouts she has a few 'twists'.

It never gets easier since you just increase your poundage.

I got an email about her uploading a set of streaming workouts1300 series, shot at the beach house in Florida. I am very tempted to join for a month, just for the variety aspect.

So Videofit, that's a yes? . Since you have them all, what did you think of Maggie? I am loving the retro look.
