Good YouTube yoga

Ok so while I'm not the biggest fan of yoga, I recognize that it might be a good idea to tack on a short amount of yoga onto cardio workouts. I'm not nearly as flexible as I was, and my mobility is starting to suffer, so I want to change that NOW!

So I look on YouTube, but WOW there are thousands of them, and well I'm lost. I know my fellow VFers can help a lost person out.

I'm looking for short ones 15-20 mins long. I would rather it be less, how to explain, yoga guruish. You know, all the " focus on the universe while holding this pose" and more "lets move into this pose or stretch"

I don't really care about kinds of yoga, cause I'm not very knowledgeable on types of yoga lol.

Any recommendations will be very much appreciated!!!

Hi Rhonda!
You might like Yoga with Adriene. She has lots of short practices & is very straightforward. Very little "spiritual guru speak", even though the titles of some of her practices might suggest that.

Sarah Beth Yoga is another good one, lots of straightforward, short, accessible practices:

I hate yoga, but I do love yin yoga because it’s basically holding stretches for about 3 minutes instead of doing “poses.” Yoga with Kassandra has lots of great practices.

Sarah Beth Yoga is my favorite. She has short and long practices across the board - gentle, restorative, vinyasa, back pain, deep stretch, even quick desk yoga for the office. I like her demeanor, she's not overly chatty and has a calm voice.

If you like yin-style yoga (longer holds as Joni mentioned), check out The Yoga Ranger with Aprille Walker. She his a series of "yin yoga snacks," practices that are about 15-25 minutes long; perfect for post-workout! And Aprille herself is very low-key and down-to-earth, not guru-ish at all.

The practices on the Do You Yoga channel are generally very straightforward as well. They have a lot of different instructors, but try one of the beginning series (which are shorter anyway).

Regarding some of the other channels mentioned:
  • Yoga with Adriene is probably one of THE most popular yoga YT channels; a lot of my college student clients practice with Adriene. I like her in general, but she feels a little overly goofy/over-the-top to me at times. Also, she hardly ever uses props, which I don't think is ideal for newbies.
  • SarahBeth Yoga - Sarah Beth's personality is even more low-key, which I like. Her vinyasa practices are often a bit too fast for me, but I love her 20-minute "deep stretch" series.
  • I haven't personally connected with the practices I've tried from Five Park or Boho Beautiful--just nothing remarkable about the practices or instruction (IMO).

Another vote for Yoga with Adrienne

I second the vote for Yoga with Adrienne. Nobody equals her for clear, concise, friendly professional instruction.
