Question Favorite Podcasts?

I did a search, and came across threads from 2006

I am looking for something new to listen to while I jump on my rebounder. I have been jogging to Virtual Active videos while listening to some electronic cardio on Pandora. I still want to use my VA videos (I find them relaxing!) but would like to listen to something else, and not music.

I am interested not only in health/fitness podcasts, I'm wide open to suggestions. Lately I have been listening to Happier with Gretchen Ruben (I've been reading her book about habits, Better than Before) and have enjoyed it a lot, but I ran out of podcasts to listen to!

A new-ish one to me is NPR's Ask Me Another -- it's a game show that's sort of about words and music, with humor. It's fun. Invisibilia, if you haven't already flown through that one (they did only a limited number of episodes). The usual favorites: RadioLab, The Moth, Ted Radio Hour, This American Life, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me. Dishing Up Nutrition, Half Size Me, Ben Greenfield, Fat Burning Man, Balanced Bites. I'm a podcast fiend......

Serial is a good one (highly addictive) I also enjoyed StartUp. For self-help, I like Sounds True: Insights at the Edge, and love, love, love Brook Castillo! Business - Tim Ferriss. I listen to a couple of business/social media ones that help with my job.

I'm a podcast fiend, too.

This was a pretty good thread from last year:

Does anyone know of any good podcasts?

From 2011: What Podcasts do you enjoy?

I'm a bit of a news junkie so my recommendations reflect that.

I subscribe/(try to) listen to:
The Diane Rehm Show
On Point w/Tom Ashbrook
PBS NewsHour
Frontline
Washington Week
Fresh Air
Slate Presents Lexicon Valley
TED Radio Hour

If you're into poetry, there's Poetry Lectures, Poem Present [think this one ended], Poetry Off the Shelf, and many Poetry Foundation podcasts (among others).

If you're looking for longer things that you can kind of disappear into:

99% Invisible - different story every time, often quirky - things we don't usually pay attention to (hence the title).
This American Life

If you want light-hearted, but still interesting:

Stuff Mum Never Told You
Stuff You Should Know
The List (Australian - on modern cultural things)

Fascinating, but not light - superior quality information/research on psychology & physiology

The Brain Science Podcast

Both entertaining & informative:
Intelligence Squared - There are 2 versions - UK & US. Debates about a current issue, with debaters of a high intellectual/knowledgeable standard for the topic at hand

I wanted to mention the "Quick and Dirty Tips" series; as the name indicates, these are short podcasts, about 7-9 minutes apiece, which can be great if you just want to listen to something while running errands, or fixing breakfast, etc. The Nutrition Diva and Get-Fit Guy are my favorites - both have great tips and are well researched.

It seems every comedian in the world has their own podcast. so if you have favorite comedians, search for them- they probably have a podcast, or have been a guest on another comedian's podcast.
