Sandra, yes--I think I'm not the only one with a shorter attention span right now!

Paine, glad you liked the practice! Did you use a "real" yoga strap? I still have to work on staying more centered in the frame, esp if I'm lying down.

Beth, yep I used a real yoga strap since I now have my favorite yoga strap here.

For tomorrow's practice, I think I will be using two fat books instead of blocks.

Today's mindfulness meditation is lovingkindness (metta) to self:

Happy Hump Day AND April Fools Day!

I saw this meme that I thought was funny but a bit ribald. I'll repost the text here with appropriate deletion.
"Hey 2020: You need to pull the car over and let me the f*** out - I'll walk from here!!!"

Haha Beth love that meme!

I also found your Wandering Mind meditation very helpful. It had been a long work day at home and teaching classes by Zoom so the ability to just sit was excellent (and much easier for me than the other day for some reason).

Sandra I love hearing about your walks and that your niece is being so productive with her classes.

This morning I did Taebo 24/7 PT Upper Body. Billy used weighted resistance bands. Mine died a long time ago and I didn’t really like them anyway! I used light weights instead. This was a fun trip down memory lane for me, as I used to do Taebo all the time.

Hope we hear from Gayle soon.

Anny, so glad you liked my funny for today.

I think our ability to keep our mind focused varies from day to day. It's like training a puppy to "stay"--the puppy gradually learns, but some days there will be accidents!

Beth, I laughed at the meme!
I did your 6-Minute Lovingkindness meditation and I think it's very appropriate during this time of uncertainty, so thank you for that. I would love to be free from fear! I live with too much fear (I'm just genetically wired that way). During the meditation, the thoughts that came to me were "At this moment, I am safe." And "At this moment I am healthy".
I really enjoy being able to hear your voice. You have a gentle, calming voice.

Anny, I prefer to use light hand weights over weighted resistance bands. Resistance bands are too stressful for my old lady hands.
I remember you doing a lot of Taebo when you first joined our check-in.

Hello again!

This morning I did an almost 2-hour walk (an XLPW?). I want to take advantage of the beautiful weather before rain moves back in this weekend. For

Today's Workout: I did the first routine from Margaret Richard's Good For You.

Beth: I did your Lovingkindness meditation just now, and it was very soothing -- thank you!

My library branch supervisor called me earlier today. Currently the library is only officially closed until 4/10, but she told me management believes we will probably remain closed until June -- which makes sense given what I have been reading in the news. But, as I told my boss, I made it through seven months of my branch being closed for remodeling, so I can certainly do another 7-9 weeks of sheltering in place. Besides, I am so fortunate to still be drawing a paycheck.

Waving to all -- take care!

Paine, those thoughts are perfect! I did a meditation last week that was similar to that; it was the idea of telling yourself you are safe in this moment. This one:

Also thank you for saying that about my voice! I've had time to cultivate my therapist/yoga teacher voice--although I still don't like the sound of it myself, haha.

Sandra, glad you also found the meditation soothing! Yes, I think you did an extra long walk this time; sounds nice. That makes sense about the library. I was talking to one of my co-workers lately and she was wondering if we are going to be in this situation for the rest of the semester...which I think we are. We are all scheduled off for June and July, so we might be returning in August and scrambling to prepare for the fall!

Jane Adams Yoga for Beginners (Lying Poses for Flexibility Practice)

I loved Jane's practice that I did this morning! It was just what I needed today.

Beth, I hate the sound of my voice!
I liked that short meditation you posted about feeling safe in the moment.
