change in calorie burn for cardio

I have noticed lately (I use a Polar A370) that my calorie burn for cardio has been lower lately by 30 to 60 calories . I did a dance workout this morning that I had done a few weeks ago (exact workout) and my calorie burn was about 40 calories lower.

Does anyone know what would cause a lower calorie burn? I know I'm still getting all the benefits of exercise and it does not really matter, but I am curious.

Thanks!
Sherry

Two things come to mind..First possibility....is it possible your body is getting more efficient at that type of exercise..getting used to what it needs to do?

Second possibility...is the amount of energy you put into the moves was less enthusiastic, less intense on your part?

I know just because I do the same workout that I don't always do it the same way.

Not to say you just went through the motions but were you really into the workout the first time but maybe not as enthusiastic the second time around?

Sherry - I’m not convinced that fitness trackers are super accurate. I have a Fitbit but I rarely look at calorie burn. I tend to look at steps and especially at active minutes.
