Yoga at home vs yoga classes (and pilates)

what are some yoga or pilates DVDs that are just as good as real life classes? I'm already paying for pure barre classes and can't afford anything else but I really want and need to be doing some yoga and pilates as well. I want excellent instruction, or at least as excellent as can be without hands on available. I currently have ultimate yogi and Tara stiles. What else is out there?

I recommend Suzanne Deason's Yoga Conditioning for Weight Loss. The instruction is excellent, and she shows three modification levels. Also, the outdoor scenery is beautiful!

I'd look at a book such as those by Brooke Siler or Alycea Ungaro.

Streaming sites are better for this the. DVDs, IMO

Sounds like you're used to tough power yoga, so I'd recommend signing up for Bryan Kest's website: www.poweryoga.com (about $10/month)...tons of practices on there, many of them excellent, many by Travis! Also Udaya.com...lots of Rudy Mettia and Vytas on there.

Yogadownload.com

Grudgingly also recommend Amazon downloads.

Actually, any yoga master (even one who has recently put out a DVD) that is of whatever kind of new wave (including retro-old-school), may also have a download companion or purchasable standalone version of the video for "on the road" [my wireless "road" currently being 20 feet from my television set ]

I, personally, am hatha and slow-flow and classical pilates in the house; but adjust for your own needs. Given my tastes and preferences, I heartily recommend J. Brown Yoga (Abhyasa Yoga), liberal use of iTunes Store—anybody who believes in permanent, at-least-nominally offline licensure of downloads.

Because I am no video ninja.

I upload my own, created practices to iTunes all the time !
