I left out that mine came with the whisk and pouring shield.

I have not tried slicing potatoes. I can see if I can find any reviews that mention that.

In the Amazon reviews , someone asked in the questions section about slicing potatoes. Someone answered that it worked well .

It seems to not work well for onions. Reviews said they come out mushy.

I did a Google search and I found a Youtube video that actually showed the attachment being used to make scalloped potatoes.

So, I'm getting that (thank you for the suggestion!), an extra bowl and an extra paddle with the flexible scraper attached. Now I need to stop looking at KitchenAid attachments, before I go broke. This could get out of hand - like a fitness video buying addiction, lol!

That recipe looks good! Thank you for sharing.
I wash all the attachments by hand. I think you can put them in the dishwasher, but I prefer not to.

I ignore all the other accessories because I also do not want to go broke. Enjoy using everything! I did get the paddle with the flexible beater and like it.

I think chocolate chip cookie dough was my first use of the stand mixer also.

So my slicer attachment was delivered Thursday or Friday and I tried it out today to make scalloped potatoes. It worked great! My son said it looked like a margarita snocone maker, which got me thinking of other things to use it for. I'm going to try shaving some ice with it this summer for slushy drinks.

Thanks for the recommendation!

I am so glad it worked well!
