It has been so long since I did this rotation so my memories are not fresh. Seems like it was around 2012 or so? At the time, I didn't know much about the creator (Physical Therapist Jeff Cavaliere). I discovered his youtube channel a few years ago and actually find him to be very talented in his field. He does an
outstanding job teaching training techniques and injury prevention/resolution.
When I first did this set, I remember thinking that the exercises were sound and beneficial if not overly exciting. I also thought that Jeff's "drive by" appearances were a bit awkward and strange. Knowing his current abilities, I see that he was just very green with regards to that type of presentation. Dealing with jocks in the locker room is a far cry from DVD presentation to a largely female audience, esp those spoiled by creativity and fancy production values
Overall, I liked the set and was glad to have it. I didn't revisit it because I have too many great sets including some that I like much better. But this may be the year. I just started a KB rotation (Skogg, RKS) but may consider another run of Athlean XX after that.
FYI--I did not do the card challenges or Double XX challenge tests on the rotation. The card challenges actually come from a deck of exercise cards that are included with the set. I prefer the simplicity of just popping in a dvd
