Well, I am curious about his squat method. Regular squats have never been effective for me. I tend to be quad dominant.

Beth--his squat method is the key to all his standing moves. His positioning truly targets the butt muscles effectively, with a much lesser emphasis on the quads (although I still feel the moves there slightly).

Unfortunately, I decided not to continue with the $30 monthly streaming--I'm really trying to cut costs right now and can't justify it. I do agree with another VFer on the Callanetics thread--I'd be all over a reasonably priced DVD of a few of his routines! 👍 Maybe in the future he may decide to do one. I can always hope! 😀

That's true. Maybe there is a way to also pull his methods into other workouts to make them more effective as well.

I am still doing these and still getting results. My legs/butt has never looked better.

Sue, Are you adding anything else in that's weighted for upper body?

Wow, have you guys done the new Body Tight, Thighs Toned one yet? I did it this morning -- that floor work was killer. I'm not sure I felt the standing work the way I was supposed to, but oh that floor work! (though I'm not sure it was really even on both sides -- first side seemed like it had more or was that my imagination?) There was some upper body work there, for sure. Might not seem like much, but I definitely felt worked in the upper body. Here's a good upper body add on:

but of course there are plenty of arm add ons on youtube.....

Excellent! That one is on tap for me on Friday. Tomorrow is "Boost and smooth" so maybe I'll swap them out? I am really enjoying these.

And more elaboration to your question Beth - I am doing the Hilliard Studio Method classes and there is a TON of pushups and planks, and I am seeing some nice definition in my shoulders and back with those.

I'm not wiped out from either, that's the best part!

That's awesome. I would think some of the beginner Horizontal Conditioning videos might be a good choice too. Planks and pushups sometimes aren't given enough credit; they are truly effective I think.
