Incidental Exercise

This article is from Cathe's current Newsletter issue talking about the benefits of incidental exercise aka NEAT. There are those that don't agree with NEAT, but it's gaining momentum as more and more universities and research facilities put the ideas to test. I personally, love NEAT!

Thanks for the read! I have been adding some links for different 'sparks' throughout the day in a thread on NEAT that I started last month. Most days, I get at least 1 or 2 in above and beyond my morning (and or evening) workout and I make a point of standing up and walking around. It may be a combination of things, but I'm definitely feeling stronger and shaping up. My goal is to get in at least 3 'sparks' of NEAT activity in per day, in addition to the extra walking around. It would be nice to hear about what other people are trying to do to be more active.

I've been working a lot on increasing my neat and daily step count over the past year and been tracking it partially with my fitbit. I think it has made a difference though I still do planned exercise as well. I'm always interested in discussing and hearing more about NEAT! :-)
