Hike Mount Whitney.

I might be able to do it this year if my group can get a permit. There's 12k applicants each year and only 40% are approved.

Ditto. I saw Kilimanjaro in the distance when I went to Africa in 2012 but did no trekking then. It was all wildlife all the time on that trip. No time for exercise and little opportunity because you can't go for a walk unless you want to get eaten by a lion or crushed by an elephant.
I think there are charity expeditions to Kilimanjaro where if you raise a certain amount of money for a cause they provide training guidance and an expense paid trip there. Kilimanjaro is I think the only mountain of the highest on each continent that can be climbed with no technical skills.

I am going to a yoga workshop with a friend the weekend of Feb 28 at Kripalu in Massachusetts. It is a vinyasa class but after we enrolled I hurt my elbow and I think all the chutterungas that are typically in such a class will not be good for me. I have an option to move to the workshop with Erich Schiffmann but my friend thinks it sounds too woo woo. I might do it anyway depending how my elbow feels at the time. If I do it I will let you know how it is.

The location of course and the "no technical skill" are the main reasons. I'm still in the middle of my kids college tuition paying, so it is only the question of money. Good to know the charity thing.
