pilates books

Does anyone have a favorite pilates book? I've looked at the ones by Brooke Siles and Ungaro in the past but don't know if they are what I'm looking for. I requested Rael Pilates and Pilates Anatomy from the library but am looking for suggestions.

I like and own both of these:

Standing Pilates: Strengthen and Tone Your Body Wherever You Are
Book by Joan Breibart

And

Ballecore by Molly Weeks

Both are available at thriftbooks.com for great prices!

I like the different spins these two techniques take on classical mat pilates!

Brooke Siler wrote another book called the Women's Health Big Book of Pilates. It's super comprehensive. Another comprehensive book is Anatomy of Fitness 501 Pilates Exercises. Both have tons of full color illustrations of every Pilates variation you can think of. Siler's book also has beginner, intermediate and advanced mat routines you can follow. I can't say enough good things about these two titles.

The book Jane P recommended - The Women's Health Big Book of Pilates - is also my favorite.

Great suggestions! Thank you. I am going to take a look at these I've already requested a bunch.

Alycea Ungaro also wrote a later book that your library might have called the Pilates Practice Companion. It's also a very good book, I just like the Siler book a little more. I recommend borrowing as many Pilates books as your library offers and seeing which one you like the most.

Awesome! These are all new to me. I also requested one by Mari Winsor and 2 by Rael. I saw one online by Denise Austin but the library doesn't have that one.
