As a college rower, I'd never consider anything but Concept 2.

I've literally never tried a rower but have heard that the water ones are better than the other type. They do seem to be more expensive and I'm not sure how much you plan to spend. Woot currently has a water rower too.

I have a friend who has had a water rower for 6 years and still loves it.
