Hurricane Douglas approaches
as if we needed more things to worry about, we're feeling some of the storm effects in Honolulu. it's expected to be closest to Honolulu (as opposed to making landfall) in 3 hours. today, we had bouts of rain and intense sunshine.
we went to Costco the other night and noticed most of the people were adding water to their carts. the usual shelves for pandemic supplies remain empty. oddly, i feel the caring spirit of the people around as we cope with this latest challenge. i wanted to go walking today, but will probably do a leslie instead. i got assigned to an emergency response team for work, so i'd hate to be out walking and then have to rush back home.

I heard Douglas has passed Oahu now and there wasn't much of an impact, so hope you're ok. A blogger I follow is on Kauai and I hear Douglas is heading there now so hope she'll be ok. I visited Maui and Kauai in December and I'm so glad I went since who knows when things will return to normal. Stay safe!

Thanks everyone! right after i started this thread, an update had shown a small degree change to the north, which took us out of the cone.
i did my outdoor walk because it was just so humid and uncomfortable! even outside, the humidity was pretty bad - no tradewinds. it was overcast, but just humid. Quote:
