Anyone interested in a meditation check-in?

I have being doing some meditation on and off and finding it is really helping me. I want to make this a habit and practice on a consistent basis most if not all days of the week. I am also interested to learn the different resources available.

Let me know if you are interested and I can start a check-in. We can do guided or unguided (music only) and it could be a CD or DVD any way you feel comfortable.

It's funny you mentioning this. I've been trying to meditate daily. I've managed to meditate two days in a row. I still have my "monkey mind" - no stillness, lots of thoughts jumping around - but I'm determined to keep doing it to achieve more peace in my life. Count me in!

Curious: how long do you meditate?

Right now, I'm doing anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes. I started listening to some guided meditation podcasts (meditation oasis). My goal is to get into TM. My husband does TM. Unfortunately, TM is expensive to take the "courses" so I'm reading what I can and just trying to work into it on my own.

I would like to join too! I am currently participating in a 7 day mindfulness challenge that I found on Facebook, and I usually do a walking meditation in the morning, although, now that Labor Day has passed we are having the hottest weather we've had all summer, so I may wait till it cools up a bit. I love going out in the morning when the sun is coming up.

Anyway, I am very much interested in the discipline of meditating every day.

If I had a clue how to do it, I might be interested.

I know this isn't what the thread is necessarily about, but I have to share. My go-to for guided meditation is the app "Calm". It is wonderful! You only get a couple of guided meditations with the free app, but for $10 a year you get tons of options! I can't tell you how much use I have gotten out of this app. A bit off topic, but since buying the app a couple of months ago, TOM is back to every 28 days again after two years of it being all over the place (20 days, 35 days, 19 days, 45 days). It has helped me to reduce my stress levels and leveled out my hormones like nothing else. It has been worth every penny to me.

I'll stop rambling now {blush}

I'm going to give it a try! Thanks for posting about it. It's really on topic to this thread because we're all trying to get into meditation!

I'm in! I used to regularly meditate years ago but fell off the wagon.

Experience has taught me that it takes 20-30 minutes just to still my own "monkey mind," so I really should commit to 30 minutes each day. However, I'm more likely to keep a commitment to meditate 15 minutes each day, so that's my intention. (Baby steps ....)
