Nix on stevia

Bubbles, I'm with you. Stevia is a lousy excuse for sweetener. I can't have sugar, so I prefer Sweet n Low. Splenda is a secondary option if no Sweet n Low is available, and is good to use in baking. I never use Nutrasweet bc I can't taste it, I have to use 2-3 times as much as what I would use with anything else. Also, stevia is expensive at my grocery compared to Sweet n Low.

Thanks for mentioning Constant Comment. I'm drinking my first cup now. It's quite Christmassy to me!

I bought Pure Via and have tried it in two different teas. Blech. I was told stevia can taste different by brand. I don't get that. If it's pure stevia, how can it taste different? Sugar tastes the same to me no matter what brand I buy.

There are as many different kinds of green tea as there are of black tea or coffee. Some are bitter, some are mild. There is jasmine or lemon flavored green tea. I like genmai-cha which is green tea with roasted rice. Unusual flavor.

I used to buy from a now closed local tea shop which sold tea by the ounce, so I was able to try the more expensive types. Some reminded me of grass clippings or spinach!

It's just a matter of finding one you like. However, I don't like sweetener in coffee or tea generally.
