Granted, I'm not their target audience,as I'm not an indoor bike-riding gal (I only really like riding outside). But given how incredibly expensive those bikes are--plus the $40/month you need to pay for your subscription--I guess my thought has always been.... why not just join a gym and take an actual live spin class? I paid $50/month for Golds gym and Spin classes were unlimited (you did have to sign up for them). Plus, of course, all the other classes and equipment available. Just seems like a better deal to me.
Of course, I realize that some (or many) people live in remote areas where getting to a gym is not geographically feasible. But if you do have one somewhat nearby, it seems like a viable--and less pricey--alternative. Quote:

When they first came out I thought it was really appealing, but I'm a cheapskate so the monthly subscription turned me off immediately. Now I'm enjoying the laughs I get from their latest commercial.

The spoof is really funny but I really dislike the ad itself - the wife is portrayed as so eager to please her husband and almost cringes when she speaks to him - hard to explain but it really makes me dislike Peloton.

I love love love love love mine. And had my hubby gotten me one last Christmas I would have jumped up and down like a lunatic in happiness. But alas I had to buy my own in Feb.
And I convinced a friend to get one and she and her hubby love it too.

I use the app and use my own spinning bike and treadmill. I don't spin much as it seems boring to me, but I love the treadmill workouts.
The app is way less than the subscription price. All I don't get is the leaderboard and I don't need that to keep me motivated. I know what I can do and enjoy it. I don't get to do live classes as they are on at times I am not home since I leave for work well before the live classes start. Weekends I am usually done working out by the time a live class comes on. So I do all my on demand. |
