Anyone do ta while injured?

I cant believe this, but I got injured again, fell while jumping off and on my Rebounder. My leg got caught under it and my foot and leg got hurt and my chest hit the other side really hard.

Has anyone done Tracy Anderson while injured and been okay? I know I probably shouldn't be working out, but I've been injured so much lately that I rally dont want to keep missing workouts.

Hi Lora,
I have not done TA while injured, but I just wanted to tell you that I'm sorry to hear you got injured again. I know you've had a rough run the last few months.

I guess I've never really be injured per se, but if I'm not feeling 100%, I try to stick with something like walking (indoor or outdoor) or kickboxing, if I can manage the movements because it's low impact.

I think what options you have depends on what's wrong and what you're nursing back to health. You'll probably get some good suggestions here if you share more about the limitations you're working around.

Take care,
Eva

I am so sorry about your injury. I find that TA does not work well for me at all when I am not 100%. I think it is due to the fact that the moves involve the whole body so when I try to do them with an injury I end up out of alignment and get injured somewhere else (especially in the joints like shoulders and wrist). Give yourself time to recover.

Thanks Eva, I thought I remembered some people saying they felt TA WA therapeutic for them in a way.

I've been playing around with the Beginner DVD _- new one --this wk and i think today I'll just take it easy as the pain always seems to get worse before it gets better. I hope my foot is healed enough to start my walking routine tomorrow ......then I can walk over the wkend and start back on my beg TA next week.

I'm supposed to go to the foot doc to get my bad ankle injected with cortisine in a week so I'll have him ray it to make sure the fragment that didn't heal right didn't ge

t any worse from this fall and maybe hell be nice and throw in a rib film just to see if I have any rib fractures.
Hope to hear from someone else on here....i know I've heard of peeps saying they felt she was therapeutic?????

Lora, I think it's Debbie S. that has mentioned that TA helped her recover from an injury a few years ago...hopefully she will see your post and share her experiences.

It was Debbie's glute muscle that was injured and it helped her. I am sure she will chime in, though.

I am so sorry to hear about your injuries. That could be so frustrating! Hoping you heal up quickly.

There are some free Egoscue pain relief exercises on Youtube that may help.

They are not workouts, but specific exercises for neck, back, pain. I love the stretches to keep me aligned so my lower back scoliosis stays in check.

I'm sorry to hear about your recent injuries. I actually stepped off my rebounder the other day and slightly twisted my bad ankle, so I can see how stepping off your rebounder could be dangerous. Luckily, I'm OK.

My injury is so different from yours. I had a really bad fall 8 years ago and landed on our concrete steps and I ended up in ER. I tore the tendons and ligaments in the area that I landed, so a lot of atrophy happened. Even though it will never be the same, that area has greatly improved with TA.

I did start TA with a lot of pain in my wrists though. I had to stop and take breaks when I first started, and I had to use Griptz. It took awhile but the pain is gone and I can now do TA, Buti, and yoga without wrist pain. I've even done TA while my ankle was sprained (a bad fall while on vacation last Oct.) I did have to modify some of the exercises, but I think any of them can be modified with a bit of imagination.

Years ago, I heard that there was someone (not here) who couldn't do any of TA's work on her knees so she used her sofa to support her upper body and still achieved great results from her workout.
