The 2019 VF Antiques Roadshow!!

OK, maybe this is a crazy idea, BUT....

Whaddaya say we take the next week, starting today, Sunday July 7, through next Saturday, July 13, and see who, in that time frame, does the OLDEST workout?

Try to find the oldest workout that you own, or can find on youtube, that you will actually DO, do it of course, and then post here and tell us 1) what the workout WAS, of course, and 2) what year the workout was from.

And whoever does the OLDEST workout wins.....

Gee, I don't know. A round of VF applause? I have no prize.

I thought of this idea because I did Step Jam yesterday and I thought "Gosh, I haven't done this workout in YEARS, and I don't know when I last did a workout this old!"

Well, today didn't beat Step Jam (but SJ is out of the running anyway, since I did it before the contest time).

Today I did Pyramid Lower. Interestingly, I paired it with Jessica Smith's latest squat-free lower body workout, which she just posted a couple of days ago, so I did an oldie with a VERY new workout.

Pyramid Lower came out in 2002 and is SEVENTEEN YEARS OLD. Oh my. I remember when it was brand-new!

(Not that it matters for the purpose of this thread, but I did the WU and did the pyramid up and calves, then skipped the stability ball and went to Jessica's workout, which I did in its entirety, I needed the WU of that workout to get past the wobblies from doing the pyramid. It was a great workout combo!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.)

Step Jam

Hi Susan,

This is so strange, but I did Step Jam on Saturday too! It just came over me to do an old Cathe step workout and that is what I chose. I added the abs from Step Heat to the end of my workout. It was a fun workout day for me!

What a fun idea! Loving, appreciating, and enjoying the classics that helped develop the workout videos today!

I am looking forward to seeing what everyone chooses.

I'll play this game! Having seen this thread yesterday, I decided to do the original Firm this morning -- the oldest video I think I own and definitely the first I ever acquired. I'm sure I could have found something older on youtube, but I have been wanting to do that one again to see how it was. Tough, but I didn't struggle as much as I thought I might. I can't believe I used to do that one every day, day after day, when it was the only video I owned.

Have fun with this idea, everyone! (as a tangent, is anyone here in Toastmasters? This reminds me of the Table Topics portion. Maybe we should have someone come up with a theme like this each week/month to get us to do workouts we've been avoiding).

ETA: Release date of The Firm Volume 1 was 1986.
