I have no regrets about going caseless! I have each brand in its own soft zippered (ala Case Logic) binder. I kept the cover art, which is stored in a binder as well. Having the brands organized this way made it easier for me to see what I have, as reading slim spines on a shelf has never clicked with me. I only have about 250 fitness titles, but having them all in grab'able format (the future undisclosed emergency where you have to grab & go quickly haha) in a condensed format has been wonderful these last 5 years. No regrets whatsoever!

i got rid of some and kept others.

the ones that i might sell/trade/etc i kept with the cases - these are the dvds that i use rarely and i those are stored on a shelf in my gym.

the dvds that i know i will never sell/trade/etc i got rid of the cases- these are Cathe, KCM, Spinervals, and kettlebell dvds. they are kept in dvd binders (one or two for each trainer or style of workout)

I've never considered getting rid of individual dvd (or CD!) cases...but reading this thread has me seriously considering it! It would save me quite a bit of space. Thanks!

I've always kept my DVDs in separate folders [Case Logic]; one for yoga, one for barre/pilates, one for ST etc. but used to keep the cases w/artwork in big plastic tubs.
Now I've parted with most of the cases and only kept the ones where I think/know I'll end up trading/selling them. For the rest, if I change my mind and decide to part with the DVD, well, I'd just put it in a jewel case and offer it for a little less $/let the other VFer I'm trading with know.

I was in a similar situation when my collection started getting unwieldy due to its size. Given how many people here at VF successfully transitioned to wallets/folders and other storage solutions eliminating cases, I decided to do a trial run, switching a bunch to some wallets and smaller cases, but I didn't fully commit and kept the cases and artwork elsewhere.

And it didn't work at all for me. The reason I prefer fitness videos to paper workouts is that the visuals are important to me. And it turns out the cases factor into that. I hated flipping through a wallet, and missed the artwork and scanning the cases. I even found myself working out less as a result of no longer liking how my fitness DVDs were stored. I suspected this might happen, because I've always had a few DVDs that were in different storage than my regular DVD cases (cardboard sleeves and whatnot) and those always get less use than the other workouts, regardless of how much I like them.

Ultimately for me the best solution to overcrowding was to cull my collection rather than trying to fit more in less space. It was hard, but I have not regretted the decision. Although I worried I might, I haven't missed any of the workouts I got rid of, and continue to enjoy scanning the cases while deciding what to do.

My DVDs are in these cases

I have 4 of these stacked inside a cabinet. The artwork I keep (flat) in an expanding pocket file.

I don't have nearly as many as most of you....not even half as many. Mine are all in their original cases along with the cover art. I have a plastic storage bin I keep the ones I am not using. The ones I am rotating or do often are kept in a basket in my bedroom. I tend to get rid of things fairly quickly if I am not using them. I hate clutter and I don't like being overwhelmed by too many choices.

Hello everyone,

I have read all your suggestions/posts and looked at the links that you have sent me.

I am beginning to feel better about getting rid of the cases, not because I want to, but because I must and I will feel better once I let go of the clutter.
I know that I cannot carry on lugging the weight of the boxes every time I clean under the bed and plus it is overwhelming to look at the size of the boxes.

Based on all the suggestions I found these wallets which can also store cover art.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...oop_bw_c_x_1_r

I ordered two from ebay as amazon did not ship this to the UK.
I will use these to store most of my single dvds in, but may only keep one box to store my sets in e.g. turbofire, cathe chalene xtreme etc.., but on the other hand I may totally just put them all in these albums.

I will play around with them when they arrive and pare them down the best way possible, which will help control my anxiety about my family seeing my collection

Does anyone of you own these though it is too late now I have already ordered them?

Thanks again everyone for helping to aid my decision

Calistro- Too funny about hiding them. I totally get it. It's hard letting go sometimes but once you do you open space for the NEW!

I never considered getting ride of the cases, as I enjoy checking them, and I don't have that many (as other on here, but def. more than the average), although storage space is starting to get limited! I've to say Calistro, those look pretty good! I've a couple of small DVD albums for DVDs I've burnt myself, but I like this as you can keep the cover art and all.
