I had a Fluidity bar and sold it. It was very heavy and took up a lot of space. I move a lot so that was my problem with it. I won a barre during a challenge Suzanne Bowen had and love it. Not as sturdy~you can't do pull ups, etc. with it. But, it's a great barre for general use. The brand is Vita Vibe.
If you have room and the ability to get ahold of a fluidity bar they are great.

I my Fluidity barre! I found it along with the DVDs for $20 at Goodwill last year. It was my best purchase of the year. I don't use the DVDs that much, as I prefer Bar Method, Physique 57, and Suzanne Bowen. I would love to try Pure Barre's studio series.

I love my Fluidity, too. I bought it on ebay a few years ago, paid maybe $150 new in box with 4 DVDs and thought I got a deal. I've used it a lot & it's worth it. I keep it folded up & leaning against a wall when I'm not using it. I do use it for modified pull-ups as well as for barre work.

A really good hack I read about is to buy a sturdy sawhorse at the hardware store - I haven't tried it yet, but it makes sense! Easy to fold and put away while you are deciding if you will be so smitten with barre that you need a bigger, fancier one.
Some people start out with a high quality bar stool with a back and padded seat/back. |

I bought a portable barre by Cardiobarre many many years ago. Its not real sturdy but you can do most things on it. However the price has gone up since I bought mine. I know I paid less than 100 and now its up to 119. Its light and easily moveable. The pieces come apart and can be stored in a bag.

I use a portable and adjustable Stanley sawhorse .It's heavy duty plastic ,very stable can be folded to make it thinner and adjustable from 31 inches to 37 inches which is, at the 37 inch mark , perfect for me at 5 foot 6 inches. It is not that heavy and adjusted to it's smallest size it fits right behind my couch !!
